why can't we have sigs?

fyi uses up to much bandwith from what i have heard here

text barely requires any bandwidth. and off-site hosted images dont require bandwidth either.

for example. if i have a team graphic in my sig, and its hosted by myspace -- then myspace is transmitting the data for the image, not the forums I'm on.

if we had sigs, id have to spend more time scrolling and reading than i currently do:P

It's because people can not follow rules.

Basically the mods had to spend way too much time and energy to enforce the sig guidelines. It's a shame, because on the newer VBulletin software there are ways to automatically regulate sigs and image sizes.

AO was most certainly a much more colorful place when we had sigs.

I don't miss sigs. At best they made for a lot of kibble to scroll through and interrupted thread continuity. At worst they were a PITA for slow connection speeds (cellular, etc...) and when people had them, they'd reference them regularly, which made life difficult if you have sigs turned off.
