any other IN players heading out to D-day this year?? This will be my 5th year, its a great time if you stay in a hotel and treat it as a vacation.

i am usually on the road that time of the year but i havent gotten any calls yet for gigs
if my schedule stays clear for that weekend i would love to go out and play

When is living Legends, the friends I go to Dday with have been talking about heading up to CPX sometime, and I would say that would be the best time to go.

Whew, that would make for an expensive 2 weeks LL and Dday within 1 week of each other, ouch!

yeah i didnt either, they have a lottery its 10 bucks to get in and if you are drawn you get an out of state hunting license (130) and an elk permit (365), so all together just to go its gonna be around 500.00 plus gas, food and lodging. Which I am assuming the trip to Frankfort, KY is gonna be a lot cheaper and closer than say a trip to the mountains elsewhere. Its non guided hunts you are given areas you can hunt, and you can use anything from bow/crossbow, .270 or larger, 20guage or larger and a .50cal muzzle loader or larger. I am thinking a 300WM will be perfect for this application. Oh and I guess they have a success rate of something along the lines of 80% or better, thats out of 1000 tags given each year

Wow, thats a pretty good chance to get one then! Hope you get in, thats not a bad deal considering you will have to pay that anywhere you go anyways. Still wonder if they are native or not.... Oh well, all tastes the same!

nope they were released but i guess the numbers have exploded there due to the mild winters and such, most places will charge you 500+ then most hunts are guided hunts so there is another 1000+ out of pocket and you have a lot farther to drive/fly, needless to same im stoked never hunted an elk

Closest I got to an elk was at this place called Carley Elk farm, you guys might have heard of them before. We live pretty close to the elk farm.

Do they have any woods fields?? All I see are smaller "built" fields. That is a pretty good price, dont think I will be able to make it this weekend, hopefully they will have some deals in February... Let me get with a friend and see what dates may work for us, maybe we can get a group of us Maggots together.
