my reffing background.

worked at action paintball during the early 90s, reffed TCC, and NAPSA events there.
had my own field in crosby ( paintball games of texas 2, later name extreme paintball of texas )
reffed some of the viper scenarios and most of the texas mxs games, was a founding member of "the dream team reffing squad" headed by trips ( now manager and head ref of TXR ) see pic:

reffed countless tournaments across texas.

partially reffed the original "tex-ball" event hosted by the garcia brothers and havoc.

in short, i know how to ref.

i will give up my play so we can go ahead and stick with our plan.

i will bring two players with me. i have my own hand held chrono and reffing gear.

so ask twisted if we can bring our own ref,

so let me know.

If we had a vote Zone North would be my pick but the others are (or at least seem) nice as well. Also Vf my team leader will probably come out and play with us. Ill see if another team mate will let him borrow his E-mag so Duhon wont feel so left out

Yeah, I'm leaning towards Zone North. Talked with the owner tonight and he really wants us to play there.

I will talk with the rest of my ppls and see what they think. I dont know anything about the other fields but we thought Twisted was cool.I hate for anyone not to be able to play cause they have to ref. us. Here is a dumb question: do we have to have a ref. to play amongst ourselves? I guess thats the rules or we wouldnt be talkin about it. If it is to late to get a ref. at Twisted for the 13th wouldnt it also be too late to get one at another field.We do not mind playing with the other walk ons, it sounds like there is going to be a good crowd there that weekend.We are not totally against going to another field in the area as long as they have more than a couple of fields with only blow up bunkers.None of us get to play near as much as you guys do so when we do play we like to make it count. The fields at Twisted had kind of an old school feel to them and that was cool to us old timers but whatever. Lets just get a plan and stick to it.

Actually, with Twisted there are two issues:
1) no more available rental gear.
2) No available ref

I'm going to visit Zone North and Survival Games tomorrow, but from what I've heard/Read both of these fields should have that 'old school' feel.

I'll post up more info / make a 'command' decision tomorrow evening after i've done the visiting.

Just in case people didn't read the update in the first post, I also now have 10 cases of RPS Premium for $15 / case.

Yeah, I was going to suggest maybe we limit this to one case per person so that as many people as possible have the opportunity to get cheap paint.

All the fields I have picked allow for BYOP, and having messed with this paint, I see no reason why we couldn't use it.

So, if you take 6, I have also promised one to my teacher friend, so that's 7 spoken for. I have 3 left to split around. I know that elgalloblanco will want one or more, and I expect Mok_star could take two (one for him and one for his mini-me). That would be all 10.

Also, if people are interested I can order some APX paint (but I'd need cash up front for that)

Stay the hell away from SOGT it is the most expensive field in the Houston area, I've had a piss poor experiance about 10 years ago there and other have had a poor experiance there more recently. Just don't even waste your time with SOGT.

Looks like i have some goons that want to tag along.
me and another for sure and maybe one more.
as far as paint is concerned i could use two cases to supply the guys coming with me, but if there is not enough to go around one will suffice.
as far as the field is concerned, what ever you like is muy bueno with us.

Ok. So it looks like Zone North is going to be our new location.

I visited and walked through the fields yesterday. They're nice big woods fields that have an interesting mix of buildings and natural cover. Feels very oldschool to me. I think everyone will like it.

Two items of note:
1) There are no speedball type fields set up yet, but I think we'll be ok with that this time around.
2) The fields still have a fair amount of water on them. Weather says it shouldn't rain too much more next week, so I don't expect it to be any worse than it is now, but it may not be much better either. Be prepared to get muddy

That said, it sounds like the owner would really like to have us visit, he's offering us some reasonable rates ($20 field fee + air, as opposed to $25). Plus this location is much closer to civilization than some other fields.

Cool looks good to me (sound of printer printing waivers in the background) is this the field that has been there forever that had the hellicopter out in front. This is good for us I love the whole FM 1960 area an I know for a fact that there is a Long John Silvers near by so I can get my fix.

no, I think that one must be survival games. This field is only about a year old or so. Their south location is almost 10 years old though.

I am going to need an X Valve o-ring rebuild kit or at least a powertube o-ring for my X Valve.The valve is puking air down the barrel as soon as I gas it up.I am new to X Valves, looking at the exploded diagram is the Powertube O-ring the one that fits up into the back of the level X bolt sleave?
