I'm not sure how it is working. There is a large group coming out of Hell Survivors for this event and I'm lumped in under them and was told what side I'll be on. Maybe the group was large enough to get assigned a side early on?

I just confirmed that our group size is the reason we know which side we are on. We have 90 players registered under our group, The (MMG) Michigan Monster Gangsters form Hell Survivors.
