I don't know about Tampa but Bullseye's I'm going to. This time I'll bring sun block.

i'll be reffing field 4 at the super 7 in tampa if anybody wants to come by and say hey. i may not be able to interact with the crowd as nppl is pretty strict on those things, but i'll at least nod at ya!

Been a little while...

..since I last posted. Been busy at Hi-Tech, with school, and playing online. My Halo group is working on producing the closest thing to a Halo paintball tourny team as you can get. Communication, strategy, etc. It's too bad they never seem to understand tactics however. Anyways, with any luck I just might be able to get up to Tampa this weekend. Hard to say, I think Saturday is lost already, but who knows. School ends for me this week. Anyways, if I make it, I'll drop by field 4!

EDIT: There's no admission fee to watch the games this weekend, is there? I've done several google searches and turned up nothing, and the NPPL site is hopelessly outdated. I'm hoping that my dad and I can come up on Saturday or Sunday.

I have never been to a tourney that charged any kind of entrance fee. This one should be no different. I look forward to meeting fellow AO'ers there so if you see a big guy wearing a red AO hat come up and introduce yourself. I don't bite.

Lee- Sorry I missed you bro. You guys looked busy as hell anyways. Let us know how it went. From what I saw it wasn't too bad. There were some questionable calls made but then again when aren't there. I look forward to your synopsis.

Well, I looked for both of you there. Didn't see any red AO caps unfortunately. And for the life of me no one seemed to know which field was numbered which, and it didn't seem like I'd be able to say hello to you anyways because of the setup. Looked awfully harsh for the people working out there, especially doing it three days in a row..
My dad and I saw at least one rather questionable call, and another really weird shot. One of the games turned into a bit of a stalemate with both sides in back at almost full strength, and two people up near each other in front. One of them makes a break to the side, looks like he gets lit up moving over. Ref calls him clean. Guy reloads or somesuch, looks out the other side...and the ref walks over to the person opposite him (who is out of the line of fire) and pulls his armband. No visible breaks, no only obviously shooting at him. Couple games later we watched one team get wiped out, but the strange thing was that towards the end, about 2 or 3 left on 4 or 5, the losing team's point man was shot out rather spectacularly by what appeared to be his own teammate. Strange angles apparantly, or else a really stupid back player.
I found the food and beverage monopoly rather disappointing. One would think them above such blatant commercialism, especially in regards to essentials like fluids...on a summer day, outside. The entire event seemed over-commercialized. Even old Hollywood seemed a bit overwhelmed. Still, it was nice to get to see teams like Dynasty play. By any chance did you get to see the Hi-Tec Factory Team play, Lee? They didn't do very well it seems, did you get to observe any reasons/details on that?
Overall attendence was fairly decent, and it was an enjoyable experience. Hope you had fun and earned yourself a few cases doing so Any plans for reffing the next one?

according to N.P.P.L. and P.R.O. referee guidlines, i can't post on any forum any details of any tournament involving either organization. at least thats the way i choose to define them. i have heard i'm not allowed to post on any forum at all, but i gotta have my ao!

thanks for looking for me and i'll chat you all up with info when i see you in person. sorry guys, but thems the rules.

reffing is by invitation and this was my first event so i need to be evaluated. i havn't heard anything yet but we'll see sooner or later. the next event is in denver and it would be cool to travel there and work it.

Central Florida is having a tournament? Is it open for play at all? Me and the boys were going to head up there to play Sunday. This could be bad.

chris: it's part of the pmi series. i think they still have open ball though. not sure.
zippy from here on ao is playing with orbital and some of the people from pbex are playing as well. one of them is amanas dad.
