Just so you guys all know, Palm Beach County, has shut down all paintball fields in the county. I have no where to play now

Probably same reason Cities have been shutting paintball down.
It promotes violence and vandalizim.
Thats what they say at least.
Have my sympathy there.
I myself drive thru 3 counties to get to my favorite field.

in related news, pasco county denied the conditional use permit showdown paintball was seeking in order to re open.

chalk up another one to politics.

The county said that it promotes crime and violence, so they shut it down. But the real reason, they shut it down isnt that, the field has been there for 23 years, with the large growing rate of my county, houses were built up right to the fields fence. So the owner got more netting and tried everything in his power, to not get shut down, but the company building the houses, was going to sue the owner, if he didnt shut down.

kinda figured that was the reason they'd give. just wanted to see if there was any alterior motives at play, which was answered. truthfully i think it's a bunch of bull cookies, and false sterotypes made by people whos never tried paintball (or failed miserably lol). hey good luck finding another field to play at thats not to far away. i know our county (pasco) is rumored to be thinking of atempting the same thing.

As of right now, after talking to some people on the county board, they told me, they are they are thinking of opening a county paintball field, only thing they need to do is find a place to build it. They will also be asking the help of our local stores, to help them build the fields. I only hope this comes true, because I do have no where to play, if I can only play by driving down to Miami, or up to Orlando, I will have to quit, because the price of gas is to high, to go up or down to a field every weekend.

Is it just me or are people that seemingly work for EPIK paintball joining under more than one name and are bashing other fields?! That's not to cool.

I've never been there personally but from the prices and pics off thier website it seems the only possible shortcomming i could forsee is if the refs are just the worst on the planet.

$5 all day air is nothing really.
$60 a case of paint is average for low grade.
If i lived nearby i probably would go there.

what are the epik people doing? i havn't seen anything, but havn't really looked either. i know one of the refs there but don't know if he would do anything like that. i don't know him that well.

Having been to Epik and played there......I would never go back.

The 2 other guys I've been playing 3 man with here lately went out there for a practice one day and we ended up playing 7 man against the home team, along with a few other "tourney" players that were there.

The 2 fields they have are lacking in just about all categories (although the hyperball field is not all that bad).

The reffing.....if there was any....was suspect. Safety was a second thought (never a good thing). And to top it all off, it was hotter then hell (out of their control, but I still blame them....I'm kidding....about blaming them).

As a side note, the owner/operator of Epik Paintball is the same guy who use to run Markers Pro Shop. 'nuff said in my book.
