read paintball talk. smart parts has applied for and won a patent for any marker that uses a switch or a battery. rumor has it that they will require a license fee of one million dollars to produce ANY marker under this patent and a royalty fee of 75$ per marker produced. this applies to markers that are already in production, not only marlkers that have not yet been invented or produced, the patent is that broad.

thats the reason why AGD has been working on a ule trigger.

based on the info i have read, i am boycotting smart parts. i will no longer purchase any of thier products new or used.

i have only a barrel and a co2 tank on /off valve as it is anyway. i never really saw anything of thiers that appealed to me and i just happened to get the progressive with a mag i bought some months ago.

dude if this is true then all high tech markers are considered theirs (by their standards), and would end forward progress on paintball. we would be back to the old Cocker or Mag argument. Prices will rocket, and then even more people wont be able to afford to play.....this is not a good thing.
