    gentleman: i cannot stress enough the pleasure, honor and priveledge it was to compete with a team full of such fine individuals as yourselves. it took a lot of the sting out of taking second place when by all rights we should have been first. in my mind we won. the format is the only thing that says otherwise.

    a special thanks to the "other" ryan for pitching in at the last minute, making the drive, and, the difference.

    i also would like to apologize fr showing my *** like i did, but i rarely keep things in. thats the secret to why i have all the gray hair :-). thanks for putting up with my venting and i am really looking forward to the next one. you all make tourney ball something that i never thought it would be...fun!
    i will endeavor to adopt igs paintball attitude. i just have get used to tourney ball. sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you.

    and thank to the pod chicks for cheerleading and keeping us loaded out and to katie for the pics!

                Okay. Heres the scoop on Showdown Paintball guys.

                First off Lee, sorry no pump players were there. They didn't indicate to me that the usually get any either. The entrance is a little screwy to get into since its on private property. Mike, the owner, has some animals near the fields and has a couple of gates to keep them penned in. It wasn't a problem to get through but it is a little wierd for the first timer because your unsure what to expect.

                Anyway. Once you get to the actual field area you will find a very neat and well kept set of fields. There weren't too many people at first but evryone was friendly and and eager to play. After signing in and paying we geared up then took a walk around to see the fields. The first thing we noticed is that the fields were clean and very well kept. These guys put a lot of time into maintenance and rake the fileds often to keep out the mess.

                We played several games on a variety of fields and enjoyed them all. The refs were always right there if you needed them and were quick to call player so they wouldn't get overshot. Games went very quick and turnaround for the next one the same. One of the biggest pluses for the fields is that they are under a very nice oak canopy so they have a lot of shade which includes the staging area.

                The staff here is great. I have yet to meet a nicer group of people running a field. They cater to the player and I have yet to have a better $3 lunch at any field. Everyone definitely needs to give these guys a visit a check them out. They are new but know how to take care of their players.

                        duelist: cool and thanks for the scouting report. i'm planning on going next sunday. can you make it? i'm going to play some pump and try to show them how it's done.

                        also, nice emag, i saw your pics on another thread. nice work with the anno. is that a chord body? you and iggy would get along well i think, he has an emag and a micro emag.

                                                Lee - Thanks for posting the pictures man! I share you sentiments about our team. I'm glad we all had a good time, and the more I think about it... the more I agree, the format was the reason we didn't take first. We have to make sure to give the field owners constructive feedback. IMHO, I don't think the format fit a one day tournament.

                                                            eric: we got a case of paint, some stickers and coupons for wings at beefs. we should have gotten first but the format didn't allow it. we had 8 wins and 2 losses for the regular tourney and got byes in all the playoffs except the last round. the second place team (7 wins and 3 losses in regular play) beat us.
                                                            thanks for the congrasts. we played real well together. good situational awareness from everyone, good communication and aggression as well.

                                                            deulist: does the l-o-l field have compressed air and would i be allowed to bring my own scuba tank?
