    air cannons at Spplat 2

I'm wondering if air cannons are going to be leggal at Spplat 2.

If so, what are the rules for their use? Do they have to be checked for saftey, etc by a head judge or something? Are their criteria they must meet such as two safteys and pressure guage?

What about the appropriate ammunition? Is it different for a cannon designed to shoot straight at a target (tank) vs. a mortor type designed to shower an area with paintballs?

Is this even the right place to be asking this?

Yes, they will allow cannons and LAWs. As for the specifics, I am not sure. Check out EMR and SPPLAT site.

The best thing to do is go right to the source:

They've always been quick to respond to my emails in the past and JJ is registered here, too.

Dont bother trying to contact Spplat, it will take forever to get a reply from them. Go to the EMR site and e-mail BLUE, he tell ya if it's legal or not.

Only Trekkies are allowed to have LAW rockets.

There will likely be safety resctrictions of which we will not talk.

i took my LAW last year. its even in the video.

what you will want to do is get there on sat and track down the head ref.

he will inspect and fire and crono the cannon.

it is his desion on weather you can use it.

i think they had to be under 250fps lastyear.

they really like it if you shoot the nerf's, and they really shoot better.

I PM'd JJBrookshire and he said that they can only shoot "nerf" rockets. Any device which fires more than one paintball per trigger pull is not allowed due to insurance issues.

This is a shame as I wanted to make some of those paintball morter shell which shoot 20-40 paintballs up in the air so they rain down all over an area. I would think that this would be prefectly safe as the paint would probably be falling much slower than 300fps.

Now, does any one have a pic of these nerf rockets? I'd like to pick some up.

Cool. The barrel of my cannon is also 2". I was looking at those so I guess that's what I'll get. Thanks for the help.

                      one more thing,

write your name on them and if a ref picks them up they will be at a lost and found latter and you can get them back
