Hollywood Sports Park

[Newbie]

Just wondering if anyone here has ever been to Hollywood Sports Park. If so, could you tell me your experiences there? (Was the service good, how were the facilities, etc..) I hear that this is the best place for any sort of extreme sport: paintball, bmx, skating, etc...

Its not for sure, but some of my buddies were condidering going on a road trip to California, so perhaps some of yall California AO's could show us around and play some paintball?

I haven't played there but my buddies have. The cool thing about the place is that they have night games. I haven't been able to get off of work early enough to play and SC Village is closer to me anyway. HSP is owned by the same people at SC Village.

Ok. The last time I played there was on a Saturday and man did it get crowded quick. They have a large assortment of fields to choose from as far as recball goes. They also have 4 or 5 speedball fields in the back. The large crowds got annoying and so did the field paint only part. Other then that the fields were very creative. They do night games during the week days as well but I haven't been to those yet. Depending on when you and your friends come out I might be able to show ya around a bit and do some playing.

I've played there a few times...one time with RoadDawg. Let me tell you...the wait blows chunks. I found myself waiting close to 20 minutes after each game before getting back on the field. The facility is nice, but I found customer service to lack some. First off, they stop filling tanks about 30 minutes before they close. This ticked me off once because I was out playing in the speedball fields and I didn't hear an announcent. They closed at 10 so I figured, 9:30 would be plenty of time for me to fill up my tank before I went home. Got to the fill station...nope...sorry, no can do. I paid for all day air and they wouldn't fill it up before they closed?!?! The guy behind the counter talked down to me. Really uncalled for when you pay good money to play at their field.

Not to mention they gave me the run around while registering. Thier computers were down and the person at the front booth told me to go to the pro shop to register. Went to the pro shop and they told me to go back outside, this went on and on until finally, someone was able to help me out. Very frustrating. The walk from the pro shop to the front isn't much, but when you do it over and over again, it gets annoying.

The fields at night are horrible in my opinion. Sure, shadows are fun to play in...but not the whole field! Lighting is poor and the refs gets overwhelmed with the amount of players, and you have a lot of guys cheating.

As you can tell, my overall opinion of the place sucks...just don't let the good looks fool ya. Needless to say, it'll be a while till I go back to that place...or not even at all.

LOL!! Um...unfortunately, I didn't play that day. Except I know TDS would jump on it if he asked. To think...a 71 year old man...there's just no shame with her. :)
