Utah Players

I thought it would be a good idea to do a little Mini-AO Utah meet somewhere here. I know I've seen a few fellow Utah players around these forums and wondered if anyone else would be interested.

I used to live in Utah. I come back quite a few times to play. In fact I'll be back at the end of August and will probably be playing at the new field by classic skating on 9000 south. Across the freeway from planet.

How coincidental, that's where I play regularly now (Adrenaland). It's a smaller field, but the staff is really friendly and personable, plus it has some good competition (Inazuma practices there. Their recent claim to fame was topping X-Code at the Battle in the Parks tourney).

My brother and his friends know the owner. I played there just after it had opened up. My brothers friends are in that little 3 man tourny they are doing. I had fun last time I played there. Some very good competition. I had fun when we did the Speedball games. I love that right snake up next to where you first walk in. When they play corner ball that isn't that fun. The planet has always stunk. I do like playing at Showdown from time to time though. Right now it's to hot to play outside.

I'm actually going to be playing their next 3-man series with 2 other friends (1 of them is sort of unreliable, I'm trying ot fix that). Yeah, playing the corners sucks, the field(s) just aren't set up to play like that. I've only tried the snake a few times, but it is a pretty fun bunker. Usually we have someone else on my team take it though, I myself love that huge bunker on the 50.

I play at Showdown on occasion, but I just wish they had the airball field set up every time (I absolutely love playing on that field). I did make the mistake of going this Summer and felt like I was going to die in the heat. I also used to play at Planet all the time, and I have no idea why (I don't think I ever liked that place; just way too messy and the fields were kinda lame. JR's was also pretty sweet before they went out of business, just too far from where I live.

Have you ever played the field next to Hooters? I took a tour of that field just after it opened and it looked pretty good for speedball type games. Planet wasn't to bad but the middle is pretty stupid now. To easy to advance on. I played there in July and got to the middle of the downstairs w/o problems.
As far as Adrenaland it's still small but I heard he was looking to try and get a surrounding building. I took my ULE mag in there last July and people were looking at it like it was a freak of nature. I wonder what they'll think when I have a warped ULE Emag come in at the end of this month.
One of my friends has a pretty sweet Gen X3 cocker w/ matching hinge and he rips that beast. He usually goes for the right center 30. He has a good snap shot. Their front player has a 01 shocker. Ne usually makes it to the 40 or 50 center. Their back player Jerry shoots several markers. I think he mainly sticks with a cocker of some sort. Also my bro might sub for one of them now and then and he'll probably use a black STO or a 02 Shocker. They took second last time I was there. Don't know how they are diong now though. Maybe we could hook up at the end of August and play.

Yeah, I actually have played at the one next to Hooters (Extreme Sports). They do have a decent field, but I don't play there anymore due to safety reasons (Lets just say chronographing your gun is "optional").

I've heard quite a bit about what Adrenaland plans to do in the future, and that's one of the reasons I'll continue to support their field (and encourage others to do so). From what I know, they will be expanding the balcony on the top as well as getting sup'air bunkers in the (hopefully near) future. If they do manage to expand the entire field that would be awesome.

So would you like to get together at the end of August? Also what do you shoot? I should be shooting a ULE Emag by that time. If not I'd probably be using a Warped Retro Minimag. LMK so we can plan a day.

Mid September may be a little better unless you want to play really soon. It's just that school is starting up and I'm also in the process of getting a new gun (I'll be gunless for about the last week or so of August, maybe a little into the beginning of September). I shoot a Black Magic Cocker right now, but I'm switching off to a Viking. I'd also like to try and get a few more people to come if possible, maybe Zumina and Powday.

Thats cool. I'm only go be up on the 27th thru the 1st. Then I have to head back down here and go to college the next day.
