No Way!!!! I had no idea!!! Wow, I actually know someone who lives here that's from Hawaii. I'm originally from Waianae (quiet) but moved to Palolo Valley when I was in the 8th grade (my parents bought a house there since I went to school in town) then I moved to Kaneohe as an adult. How long have you been in California?

(sorry I didn't mean to hijack the thread)

Came up here for college. I grad Punahou (shadup) in 92 and pretty much stayed up here. I still go back home twice a year but my life is pretty much up here now.

You wouldn't happen to play the Uk? Hard to find people up here that play I'm getting rusty.

My younger brother is actually sponsored by Sonny D's but he's up at University of Oregon.

Punahou! /me shuts up LOL JK I wen grad from Sacred Hearts Academy in 89. (I still have a little pigen in me LOL) I just got here last Nov. so I haven't been back home yet but I've had family come to visit. I'm still getting used to it, things are really different here but I'm enjoying myself. And since I found an L&L's down the street my tummy is a little happier LOL

I played the Uke a little bit in highschool but don't have one with me. I liked to listen more than play (especially to all the cute boys who played on the bus LOL). I danced the hula for 20 years and that was contribution to our culture LOL My uncle just came out with a CD, he plays slack key and is pretty awesome. Don Kauli'a Freehand, check it out next time your at home.

You should attend the next Ho'olauleia in San Fernando, they have groups that perform hula and hawaiian music, maybe you can hookup with one and start playing again.

BTW, did you know that the bus drivers are on strike!!! Unreal!

I get an accent whenever I go visit my Grandmother on Maui. I guess it was all those summertime visits when I was a child.

That's kewl! At least you can understand it. When I make comments like "there was choke traffic today" or "the line wen on fo daaays!" everyone looks at me like I'm from Mars so my "accent" is pretty much gone. (except wen I'm on the phone with family LOL)

BTW, we took some pictures at California Paintball Park this past Saturday. My cousin had a great time and asked if there was field in Hawaii. I think he's hooked! I'll post um later. Unfortunately I rolled my ankle during the first game and couldn't play for the rest of the day. But I still had lots of fun. I need better shoes though.

People look at me strange when I ask for SPAM MUSUBI or Siamin!!!!

But, you can get some football or baseball Midtops also. Very inexpensive and will help stop that from happening next time. I rolled my ankles all the time because of rocks until I got my Nike Football Mids. I got it for $23 bucks at an Sportsmart Sporting Goods store clearance bin.

Kewl! Thanks for the advice, I'll look into it. The dye shoes look kewl, DB has a pair right? Football midtops might be good too, but I'd have to see if a guys shoe fits comfortably on my foot, although having wide hawaiian feet should help LOL And...........a woman can never have enough shoes right? (Gibby is smiling at the monster he's created LOL)

Spam musubi is the bomb!!!! If your cravin it, go to an asian store to get the seaweed and wrap the fried spam and rice in it.........yummy! Try it with fried egg too.

Shannon uses the Dye and she loves them. We couldn't find cleats that were comfortable for her. The Dye are really comfortable and with the zip up flap keep dirt out and your laces in place.

I'm gonna have to probablem make my own Musubi because the local L&L charges like $2+. Even though I cook, I get lazy to make stuff for Paintball.

Leatherpants, I'm gonna try those DYE shoes now. They sound comfy. Do they have MIDtops sizes or only lowtops? I have wide feet too, plus I have problems twisting my ankles as well. I might have to buy a size larger to accommodate my wide feet like Nikes.

The mids have not come out yet but you will besurprized how the ATC fit. I have wide feet also. Musts be from growing up barefoot and slippers in hawaii. I tend not to wear Nikes I usually wear Adidas I found them to be cut wider.

When we were playing on Saturday, another player reccommended cleats too. But the Dye ones look better. Since it's good for girls and guys I think I'll go with those. Thanks.

I'll bring some spam musubi's on Oct. 25th. Are you gonna be there SDRamones? Paintball and spam musubi's...who could ask for anything more? LOL

Well, it depends if you like spam.

Basically, it's fried spam, rice, wrapped with the sea weed wraps. Good stuff!
