University of Texas at Austin Paintball League

I'm attempting to create a paintball club and competion team at the University of Texas at Austin. I need help assembling a core group of dedicated individuals who will share the responsibility with me. Students, staff, and faculty are welcome to join.

The following issues are open for discussion:

Elect officers: President, Vice President, Safety, Team Captain, Web Master, Treasurer
    Sponsorship (industry and campus)
    Practice field to use
    Jersey design
    Rec Ball Day
    Events and Scrimmages
    Tourney team try outs
    X-ball
    West Mall Booth
    Perpetuation of the organization semester-to-semesterer
(Once we start it, we can't let it die)

    Contact: [email protected]
I would appreciate serious responses only
    Thank you

Would you have to be a student at ut or could you be in high school.

but the feil should be pettys and team practice should be on sundays.

If you could be in high school that would be awesome.

    peace

      Who can join

UT students, faculty, and staff would be official members. However, I don't see a problem with aspiring UT students coming to the field for a little rec ball. More details to follow.

Do you have the universal GREEN ???

Have yall figured out how to stay funded. I know that this is one of the largest setbacks for any organization. Bake sales and things of the sort are great, but they are limited on money gaining power because it is dependent on how much help and initial resources you can have put in it to keep doing it.

Why don't you see if you can get a discount at your local field, because there is no way to keep playing once or twice a month with say 20+ members unless you get serious discounts.

Try asking if they need help reffing, etc. Perhaps they will trade off some work for some free playing time. Again...this is all dependent on your level of member participation and dedication.

If you have the school backing your club, hey maybe you can find a great spot maybe in the middle of campus somewhere to hold a small tournament. This has great money potenetial as well as free P.R., but it takes lots of money to make TONS of money.

I'm all the way over here at UH, and ive done alot of thinking about doing the same thing here but never had the time or resources. I would definately be interested in coming to any events you may have.

        Best of Luck!

heh, what about former students too

There used to be a paintball club at UT. It dried out evidently.

As far as fund raising and stuff... how much exactly would the club need? What would it be spending money on?

          Definitely not on the A-Team.
