Oh, I can make it alright. Wouldn't miss it. Just had to pull out of running a Beer Booth at the Lodo Music Festival, but that's no big deal...

So girls and boys, we should recap what did, and did NOT work last year with comms. It was a bit of a nightmare. I'll dig out what I had out and work out where I got it because that worked really well.

What's with the new forum display? All those emocons are giving me a freakin headache! Like what's THIS guys all about?

Looks like a penis on amphetamines.

I prereg today and all is well. I'll be campin'. I hope to play some speedball sun but after last years game everyone was pretty well beat. I'd make for a good and slow target anyway. Does any one have any spare parts for an angel. I need an LPR exhaust valve. Got some on order but they're back ordered on me. Action pursuit doesn't have any. See ya'll there.

I know this is really a tech issue - but as you'll be the guys who I'll turn to on the day if I've problems anyway...

I havn't been following the technology for about a year, but do you guys recommend that I get an X valve before the enent? If I do, am I likely to be able to get it setup easily enough before we get going if I don't have a chance to get some air before I come?

Also, I read stuff about input pressure in the forum, but nobody gets specific. Will my 800 PSI air tank work OK with the x-valve or should I try to reg that down?

        THANKS

        Keith

the Xvalve is exactly like a Retro valve... so if you got the cash, go ahead and get one (oh, buy me one too). All the setup thats required is the Level 10 kit, and I'm assuming you've done that before.

the 800psi tank will be fine.
Hey Zero, how much did that Chipley cost ya?

Nope - I don't have a Level 10, but based on the video seems easy enough. So based on your answer there isnt' anything about the X-Valve that would spoil my day out in Greeley... I'm not totally convinced that my standard valve is working perfectly.

            Thanks

Well between the hundreds of us there, I don't think you'll have a problem finding qualified technical help

And let me put it this way... if the Xvalve spoils your day in greeley, I'll buy it from you and give you my (working) classic valve

              Sound good?

I would say for sure get the level 10, and if money is no object, go ahead and get the x-valve. Level 10 + classic valve = you can still run CO2 if needed, x-valve = no CO2, if that is an issue. Just something to keep in mind.

I got a couple of radios myself and I'm going to set up my mask with the head set rather than try to use the throat mikes. Once we figured those out they seemed to work ok. I've got a battery charger for "AA" batteries it can charge 4 at a time if anyone else has radios that use "AA". Other than the radio problems the only other thing was that last game of the day.
I think we need to find some grenades and just bomb the other team at the start of the last game then wipe out whoever is left.

I dug out all the gear I bought last year for comms. What really worked well was the Motolola with the Radio Shack headet. I think it was the clearest in terms of reception.

The headset can be described as:

                      - has an earbud type earphone with a plastic holder to keep it on the ear. Looks like an @ sign.
                      - There is NO boom. The mic has a tie clip type attacher which clips on to the front of the mast. It has a Push-to-talk button on it and reaching up to that was no big deal I found.

                      Hope this helps.

PS - trying to get a TAC-ONE in time for the event.

I have since got some good radio's after the debacle last year...

Audiovox... I got it at best buy for $50, came with a long boom mike, rechargeable batteries, and a charger... Oh and it was a two pack, so I guess two of everything.

Only used them twice though, and it came through perfect each time. So I'll have one extra should anyone need it. So long as no one is on VOX, I think we should be alright.

Keith, I hope you get the Tac, it should be awesome. I just got a Sterling STP Turbo, and I'm actually starting to think it might replace my mag at the event... but then again, maybe not

Hey, how many people are planning on showing up friday and camping out friday night?

BTW, I have been talking with AGDJon, and he promised some AGD shwag for the event. Not sure if that means posters and such or if there will be any other goodies, but I will tell all of you as soon as I find out.

                              Hey Mr B.

I think I'd like to camp out Friday night for sure. Is BSolomon coming? If so, perhaps we can try setup the same as last year... Note to self, bring Earplugs this year.

If you talk to the person at AO about shwag, see if he can do anything about order 1215 ( My Tac-one ) so that everyone can get to play with a T1 ;-)
