A group of us are playing in Pemberton at On Target Paintball this weekend the 18th. We have a thread on it here. Check it out!

        Try PBX Battlezone.

Great rates (cheaper than they have on their site (www.pbxbattlezone.com), the best rated field in NJ according to PBR, an accurate assessment of the place:

Over the years I've been to many fields (indoor and outdoor) but PBX Battlezone really rocks and blows away every field I've ever been to.

        1. PRICE--Can you say AMAZING? Even some of the outdoor fields can't compare. A case of paint starts at like $40 and the entrance is CHEAP and includes your air pass!

        2. # OF FIELDS--It's got 2 fields which get changed every day and even twice on the weekends so that the set-up never gets stale. (Been there 4 times so far but plan to make it my home!) Most places only offer one field (indoors, anyway) but here if you have teams and walk-ons there's never a problem. One night I was there, a group of little kids were playing on the 3-man while the more experienced players were on the 7-man field.

        3. MANAGEMENT--I've never met a group of people so intent on helping out their customers. Mel (the owner?) fixed my friend's gun for FREE!!! They're not just super friendly, they really try hard to CATER TO PLAYERS (and parents). You make a suggestion and they actually listen to you and try to do it!

        4. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE--BAR NONE, the guys here REALLY know what they are talking about and can tech any gun. Yeah, other places may have guys checking out your gun for you but most aren't certified airsmiths. This place is certified by EVERY MANUFACTURER! How cool is that? Like my friends gun was looked at by people from 2 other fields but nobody could get it to work. But BAM Mel fixed it! How many field owners can you say THAT about! And how many times have you seen a gun go down on a field? This is DEFINITELY the place to take it to.

        5. REFS--Good guys and they follow NPPL rules so it's a great way to practice for a NPPL event. At other fields you may only get 1 or 2 refs but PBX Battlezone stacks them to try to keep the games as clean as possible (I've seen 4 refs on the big field and 1 or 2 on the 3-man). And unlike most fields I've been to they actually WORK their butts off instead of just standing along the sidelines.

        6. CLEANLINESS--Now I'm not trying to be prissy. Paintball is a dirty sport but some indoor fields I've been to are nothing but pools of paint and shells. Of ALL of the indoor fields I've been to I've never seen them clean and maintain their field the way that they do at PBX. This shows me one thing, that they care about and respect their customers. I see the refs cleaning the field and wiping down bunkers between every game. They do a hard cleaning every night and before they open. From what I understand they even have it steam cleaned every week.

        7. RETAIL SHOP--You can't call it a pro-shop 'cuz it's not like some rinky-dink little counter area that EVERY OTHER field has. PBX has got just about every high end gun you could want and all the accessories to go with it. The prices are AWESOME! VERY reasonable and CHEAPER than a lot of stores. It's better stocked too than most stores. And every time I go more stuff keeps coming in. NONE of the other indoor or outdoor fields can touch the level of merchandise PBX has. NONE. This is a paintballer's dream.

        8. RENTAL EQUIPMENT--Tournament grade AGD level 10 mags are rented for the same price (or less) than other fields charge for Tippmann 98s. They also now rent '03 shockers!

        9. FOOD/CONCESSION--They don't try to rip you off and make a boatload of money on concessions. They sell food CHEAP (pizza, subs and other goodies I hear will be on the menu) and the food is served fresh not stuff that's been sitting under the lights for a couple of hours.

        10. IT'S BYOP EVERYDAY!!!!!!--Need I say more?

        11. COMP--I've seen a lot of good teams playing here, young kids just getting into the sport, some old timers and old schoolers, parents hanging out and it's no wonder. Players (CUSTOMERS!) know the difference between being taken and being taken care of.

My only criticism--Why don't you guys open up a field closer to where I live so I could go every week?

Every field may be a little better at one thing than another but PBX Battlezone for the most part HAS IT ALL. HANDS DOWN. If I could give it a higher rating I would.

Having reffed at PBX battlezone, I can tell you that on the 7 man field we usually have 6 refs on the field. Two of them are dedicated cleaners, one of the biggest complains about indoor fields is the paint build up on bunkers and the floor, this is what these guys do. The other four refs usually start at each of the twenties along the side. This gives them the maximum amount of coverage on the field and easy access to all the players.
