Even Longer Range Planning! NorCal vs SoCal 2005

Well As I start to plan out and orchestrate this next NorCal vs. SoCal Day I have one major snag that must be decided on. The date. I have spoken to some of you about this and as much as I hate to, I think we need to consider changing the date of the 2005 event. This years event was held in January 16-17 are you may recall and the weather was divine. With the advent of my rather spontaneous decision to learn how to make a web site, I now have a place to give the event some of the justice it deserves:

    NorCal vs SoCal

That has a large selection of data for any city and town in the US. A short check under

    -Atascadero
    -Paso Robles
    -San Luis Obispo

revealed identical rainy seasons (lazy web master or rotten luck eh?). So according to the faceless, lying weather people, January-March is shot. Jon, of our dear Breakout Paintball in Paso sort of hemmed and hawed over the rain issue which sort of backs up me fears. We may have skated the rain this year but do we want to leave the event in January when it could very well rain? I know that I would still play but I would not be too happy about it.

    So consider the options:

1- Leave the event for January2- Push it back into March-May area and avoid the nasty rain.

Once I get a feel what you all want and a month is decided, I will try to find the weekend that ideally has:

    no scenario games around it
    and
    perhaps a 3 day weekend

i vote for april/may, simplay becuase that would logically be the time of year with the lowest risk factor for rain. i can do any time of year, however, since i will be attending cal poly.

Well Z-man...you know that I live in san luis and yes january is a very very wet month and so is february. March is iffy and april seems better. If anything why don't you push it up earlier then. So that all of us college kids aren't drained by the end of the year. You know we have the most energy after the summer and not during the spring quarter.

That is kind of a hard choice. I guess for me personally, it really depends on when it would be in May. Regardless of the rain and weather, it would be nice if people still in school could make it

AP tests are at the begining of May, but after that there is usually an abundance of free time, which means, I believe, more people will be able to attend.

End of December, early january would be great (winter break), however it is also the rainy season, so that's a bit sketchy. I Highly doubt that it would rain in May though. If at all, depending on where the event is held, the day should be sunny and hot

Crap, I meant to vote for MArch, imagine that April only has 3 or whatever and March has 1.

O.k., I voted for April. Seems that there is enough sunshine in April without the heat(except for this year). By May I'm spending my time up at the lake windsurfing to cool off.
However, If you get alot of interest from out-of-state AO'ers then...well... play it by ear. Of course this IS a North/South Cal. tourney. LoL

Dammit, have it THIS summer! It was freaking cold up there in Jan.

And let's make sure we have air.

ToBe2be- Hey man don't stress it. there are always NorCal AO Days happening and if you give us some exact dates, us NoCal guys would be happy to arrange a special "Tobe2be Welcome AO Day" right guys? Heck we will probably have one around that time anyway so why not add a theme to it ?

I voted April/May. I say this cause one it's not as hot and two it's not as big a chance of rain. January was a bit chilly in the evening/morning but during the day it was nice. Don't think we'd get that lucky again. Another reason is it gives those of us in school a chance for Spring Break and we have time to save up after Xmas. This years kinda sent me into the red due to Xmas bills and being pricer then I thought it was gonna be.
                      Sorry, I'm old

                              silly question.... maybe

Since I'm really quite new to the AO, I don't know how you veterans of the forum interact with each other and/or represent each other. Neither do I know what to make of the link posted by Steelrat that used undocumented and, interestingly enough, undisputed commentary about another member's website and lifestyle. Hmmmm......

Can anyone fill me in, please?
