Paint status UPDATE:
well, due to some unfortunate missunderstanding on splatbros part we will not be allowed to BYOP
Goodnews/Badnews:
Good news is that the due to new negotiations to straighten out this mess, i was able to get Zap Primer what most of us were going to shoot anyways at 35 a case.
Bad news is that we ALL have to buy it there. Now if this makes it so some of you can't attend, please let me know via PM's ONLY and we will work on it.
Now if this news makes all of you so mad you don't want to attend if it is at splatbors, i can try and arrange for us to move the AO day to a newer field called Total Eclipse
It is just a little south of Fredricksburg (about 1 hour north of Richmond...so a little over an hour from the splatbros). Darkripper went there last weekend and said it is a very nice small field that for 12bux entry with all day air you can't beat it. It has two airball fields and 1 wooded town. I think he also said you can BYOP, but i am waiting to hear back from DR on that.
Again guys, i am very sorry about this mess up guys....i guess thats what happens when you do the deal over the phone with a VERY busy man (who apperantly didn't write everything down)
Zap primer: 35 a case (this is what we used at the last AO day, and what i shoot most of the time and it works great)

ps. i vote we keep it at splatbros.....while i am very upset at the turn of events, TE is not near the hotel, and further north for you NC guys.
Plus splatbros has plenty of woods fields for you few that prefer it and it also has Air ball.
to me Total Eclipse is a great contender for the next AO day.

Eclipse PB IS byop, it's 10 bucks for all day air including field fee.
Their paint prices are reasonable too, with a decently stocked proshop right next to the field.
They have two airball fields, one with standups and one that's lower and makes you play much tighter.Oderint dum metuant

I vote for not moving it. I've already made some somewhat specific plans for the trip to Richmond. Plus I wanted to do some things in Richmond anyway.

I'm voting for eclipse for one reason: support for the new field that doesn't charge an arm and a leg while requiring FPO.
That's pending contacting Eclipse and seeing what they have to say about all this, though.Oderint dum metuant

there is a hotel about 300 yards from TE. its a holiday inn express, you cant see it from the road (rt. 606) it behind the exxon gas station. there is a burger king back there beside it as well the add is 6409 DAN BELL LANE Thornburg, VA 22580..i live about 5mins from that area and TE is allright if your in to play mostly speedball, the woods selection is about as good as me going in my back yard. but you cant beat the 12 field fee and byop. i would really like to attend but i am getting married the day before and the new ol lady, probaly would not enjoy that to much.....TE is good for a central location. but you will get more of a variety going to SB

Im really not wanting to drive further than i already am. Plus, the further you go north the worse the traffic. $35 a case is not bad at all, so people should not get pissed about the paint situation. however, what color shell is this paint? My eblade is very picky about shell color and this would definately affect my price in going if I cannot use the $35 a case paint. As long as it is not transparent or really dark colors i shold be ok. Just keep it where its at please, everyone has already agreed on this place and made plans to take the trip.my feedback

Why would we even considering changing all these plans simply because of a minor snag. KEEP IT AT SPLAT BROS. A couple of us already have reservations at the hotel near splat and this is barely 2 weeks notice to go and revamp things.
We can all go and support TE some other day, which i plan to do very soon Dark.
My only question is can we get that primer for $35 a case the day of instead of preordering. That way we dont have to worry about having too much/too little the day of?Comment

I agree that $35 a case is not bad AT ALL. At my local field, they charge like $55 a case, so this will be really cheap for me. I have arrangements already made also, so moving it would be a very big pain. It's not substantial enough of an obstacle to warrant moving the whole event. We will make it apparent that we are not happy with it, and that we will have the next AO day somewhere else.Comment

I see absolutely NO circumstance that would make us consider moving the event... $35 a case is a smokin' deal, even better than what Kevin was offering for a price to begin with, so I'm definately not complaining.

I'd rather stay at Splatbros. Sure, I'd like to unload some of the 3-4 cases of WORR paint that I still have in the library downstairs, but it's not a huge downer.
