AO-IL Day VI

Wherever it is, I'll show up. I may not PLAY, but I'll show up.

Around late Feb I'll have more of a concrete idea where my back situation is. The doctor said I'd be able to get back into snowboarding and paintball "Someday". Someday is too far away. But, I'm listening to him for my recovery. But Feb will be 5 months out, so I should be ok.

So, long way to say, plan it wherever. Heck, I found a place called Safari Land Splat tonight when I heard a commercial on the Zone. TINY field, but considering it's in a strip mall, it's pretty nice. I'd prefer to invade there all pumps, but it's pretty nice. MAY be a bit small for an AO outing.... Even if some of the more quiet members of AO were there tonight.

How small are we talking for the actual field? Is their playing field any smaller than pbshooters field?

I'm going there Sunday of next week (14th i believe) and playing pump with the Gunfighters (all pump/stock/limited paint group).

yea me and tribal play there all the time. it's about 100' by 50' i would say. almost like pbshooters, but with turf. the only problem is one stupid *** ref who is getting fired vary soon. and there's is wall thats sort of like a bunker, it's hard to explan. but all and all it's a good little feild. and i was talking with the girl who works there and she says there droping paint prices to about $80 a case. don't hold me to that price but there getting tons more soponcers and stuff. so in a year they should be bigger and better.

alias is better than the Dm5 IMO...since it runs at lower psi, shoots just as well, and i don't feel like paying $1350 for a dm4 with a face-lift...

if you think about it i have had every (well not every, just the ones i wanted) enhanced gun from main compaines

angel speed (easier interface-faster-lighter)
e-mag (electronic / light weight from custom)
alias (easier electronic interface-3 buttons-, lower psi function, very VERY light, better milling)

I'd say that Safari is a little SHORTER than Shooters, but a LOT wider. It's also a very strange field, with a blocker on the far side that's a building feature. But it'll play REALLY nice with SC guns. I saw a couple of people play it with e-guns, and it's find for smaller groups. Larger groups you need to slow the shooting down, it's too cramped for high ROF.

I also toured Factory PB, the advantage to them is they have THREE fields of various sizes, so there's a LOT of variety. I think AO could have a good meet there, change of scenery from CCP and Shooters. Life is like a buffet, try a bit of everything. New scenery, new challenges. Make YOU guys drive 40 minutes, for a change.

I just wish I could play. DANG IT!

Wow, Safari Land is 5 min from my dad's place. I never woulda thought they'd put a pb field in there.

Anyways, make this on a Sat. & I'll do what I can to make it there from OH.

There's also supposedly a new place opening up near where I live.

Supposed to be around 60-70 a case, indoors, large fields (2), turf (steam cleaned every week). And should open in around 3 weeks.

Keep in mind, I haven't heard anything first hand, but it sounds promising as well.

We are meeting at the field at 11:00 am on the 14th. Usually no one
else shows up (open play) till 1 or 2 in the afternoon, so we should
have the field for a while. It is a very nice field with a good bunker
layout, floor (turf) and lighting. We should have about 10 players
showing up, anything just drop us an email.

They probably don't even remember me and it's not really a private game. We're just going to be there when business is slow to non-existent so we can play pump/stock. As far as I know I'll be going unless I get MASSIVE homework... or a date (slightly possible). Either way, go ahead and stop by, they seemed like a fun group just from seeing them hang out at CPX's old chicago scenario.

12-12??? Look like it might be a half day @ work! I was talking about heading out there w/ Gambit - depends on his schedule, but I'll most likely be there.
