AO-IL Christmas Break - Take Aim PB

A new paintball place just opened up like 10 minutes from my house.

    2 Fields
    1- Wild West theme (recball)
    2- Airball
Both fields have padded turf and look pretty nice from the pictures.

    $15 entry/air
$90 case (yeah it's expensive, but the rent is high here and it's the best field around)
10am-10pm I believe is the time it's open on weekends. They're open other days too I think, but I still haven't gotten ALL the details.

They've got vending machines/concessions/arcade games, and there are tons of restaurants around like Burger King, Fudruckers, Wendy's, Pizza Hut, etc.

It's in Darien, Illinois, pretty much right on the border of Downers Grove. It's in a cluster of warehouses and next to a batting cage, the parking lot is lighted and has lots of room.

    That's the pbnation thread

I'm wondering if anyone would like to get an small AO meet going. If there's any interest aside from a few people showing up, I can see if we can't work something out with the owner for a break on paint.

Just an idea, I'm having trouble waiting until the PBfactory meet (but I plan to attend that as well).

Definately extra lube. I keep two bottles at all times. Can't leave home w/o your lubricant.

I have not and probably will not... I get REALLY lazy and don't like driving too far to get somewhere.

I'd like to go somewhere cheaper, I need to conserve the $$$. Fox is having a customer appreciation day the dya after Christmas. Chilly, but not $90/case either...

I just got back from playing at Take Aim a little while ago. I had a good time.

The turf is slightly slick and not perfect for sprinting off the break, but it's better than a lot of other places. And if you time your slides right it is really fun to superman all over the place.

They use blaze paint which appears to be stored well as it didn't really have any dimples and it was consistent in size. (unfortunately nothing seems to break on snyper )

The lighting was also good, and I have not the slightest complaint about it.

The staging area was very large and if they put more tables in they can accomodate a LARGE number of people.

The refs seemed like good guys, and they ran all over the place doing paintchecks by request OR if someone made a tough move. But did a good job not disturbing play.

I'll definitely be back again, & hopefully there will be more people playing (and a few less people who have no clue what's going on )

As for the paint being expensive, if we actually had a meet here I would talk to the owner about a potential discount. Or you can just shoot pump/stock and use about 50 balls.

Just so you know, it isn't JUST a rec (wild west) field. They have an airball field right next to it. We played on that one the whole time except when we felt like screwing around a little more than normal.

Tyler will forever remember his first experience on the wildwest field

Best indoor field I've been too so far, 3 thumbs up.
