I rarely frequent CCP's site and I've yet to even play there. I always thought they were too expensive and I've always just taken off the winter and spent my playing money on new gear. They're also relatively close to The Badlandz, so why wouldn't I go there instead? However, CCP have a special going on through the end of the month. If you live more than 30 miles away from them, you get a FREE 6-month membership. A 12-month membership costs $100, so I figure this is probably good enough of a deal to raise an eyebrow. Members receive:
Like I said, I've never even played there but this can significantly lower your average 'price-per-day' for the last few winter months. I was recently laid off from my job, but I just got my severance yesterday
and my new SFL Eblade came only a few hours earlier.
I can always play pump, too. I can make that $75 case last a heck of a long time if I really want to do so. Oh yeah, MapQuest tells me I'm 38.25 miles away (NW side of Chicago).
If you've made it this far, I'm impressed. My informal internet forum research indicates people don't like to read posts more than four lines long. Because the promo ends at the end of the month, we all have until Sunday, February 27 to get a free membership (if you qualify). I'd be more than happy to pick a day (or whole weekend) to drive a bunch of us north-siders down there (yeah, you 847s are included), if only to score the membership. AO-WI guys can even drive into Chicago and I'll drive from there. I'm not opposed to playing, either! I'm not interested in planning a formal AO-IL day, as we only have a couple weeks and, well, I've been to most of the AO-IL days.
Also, the primary purpose of this venture is to score free memberships. You've got six months to take advantage of it.
Still there? That means you're hooked.
Post here if you're interested and what your weekend availability is through the end of the month. I can easily accomodate 5-6 people in my car, even more if you're wafer-thin like Dennis. If we're going to play, cut that number in half to make room for gear.
IF YOU ARE A MINOR, MAKE SURE YOU DO WHATEVER IS NECESSARY TO ENSURE YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IF YOUR PARENTS ARE NOT PRESENT!!!
Nothing I found on the site states a parent must be present if you are under 18, but it's YOUR responsibility to make sure. I WILL NOT play the role of anyone's father (I'm not that old), brother, cousin, legal guardian, in-law, or uncle.
So, who's in?
