    Nor Cal So Cal tourny

I have talked to Z-man about this and he has asked me to post this up

I think the best way to do the nor-cal so-cal tourny is to leave it to chance. No set teams. Depending on how many players the field will hold for a good fun game is what the sides will be set for. So if the field will play 10 man teams, then we will call for 10 players from each side to come up first 10 for each group goes on the field and they play elemination. We try to get as many games in through out the day as we can.
so tell me what ya think

Yes I think that there was plenty of interest in this last year but it was never coordinated properly. This year we have a chance to do it right. Cable has some great ideas about how to set it up so I figure why stand in his way. Thank Cable! Keep us current on if you can come and congrats on the new job!

we could also get a list of Norcal teams and Socal teams and then have that list posted at the field. then teams could challange other teams from the other part of the state. just a idea.

          Stickied thread up top here

This is the place to go to post about events, AO get togethers, or just to find other players in your area. A great place to meet up for scenario games!

so... depending on how many people show up; you could squeeze in anywhere between 5 and like 20 games per day? i myself, would like to get in as much as i can.
arent they having 3 fields open? so then, wouldn't it be easier to set up and still get in more games, if its pretty much walk on rec game style? you just choose what field you wanna play, then play it when the next game starts? or maybe split everybody up into whatever level of play they are at? ex: advanced, intermediate, and beginner.
then allow people to play different levels of play, if the advanced cool down on their skill they can play intermediate, and the intermediate to play advanced if they feel like it?

or... maybe just split the teams evenly. so there is an equal amount of noobs, intermediates, and advanced players on each team?

just some thoughts to maybe consider.

I like the idea. I wish we could of done it last year but I think the air problem was what held it back the most. SO Z-man you better make sure there is plenty of air, especially if I come play, as I use a 45/45 and would need to "refuel" often.

Out at the field we have all day fills to 4500.

Jack - you are 100% correct. I don't know how Z-man did it but $26 for all weekend 4500 air fills and two day admission is a hell of a deal!! Better get in now because this deal ends after March 10th...and then it's 6 bucks more. I like the idea of no set teams until were at the field.

I like the idea of, erm, North versus South. Versus Middle. Versus, uh, out of state. Wait, Mighty Mike is probably right.

But here's a suggestion. Lets keep the idea of random teams, but set it up in advance. Then we can have a schedule where we have games running at lunch Sat & Sun for all the "tourney" level guys to go nuts on each other.

/can't tell how splitting into random teams at the size of the field in tourney?

I like the idea, mainly because it will help conserve my limited supply of paint And we can have a chance to get some pictures and videos done.

I do know the AO sig rules, I just want a free sig pic, that's all!

ditto. For example, I am probably coming alone. Most of my crew has disappeared into the wind or hasn't communicated interest. Oh and props to Zman for the deal. I'm gonna be registered in a day or 2.
