    AO New England Day 2005

I alreayd briefly mentioned this to slade, but we should start planning for an AO New England day.

I'm no master organizer, but I do know a few fields in the Massachusetts/ New Hampshire area that are great, and would have the perfect atmosphere for an AO Day.

Canobie Paintball in Windham New Hampshire.

Pros: Cool refs, great fields, good locationf or an AO day
Cons: 100 bucks a case. That plus 10 bucks to get in and 10 bucks for all day air.

And, Friendly Fire in Upton, Massachusetts.

Pros: Cheaper Alternative at 60 a case, and 25 to get in and 15 for all day air. VERY good refs. EXCELLENT fields. I've been there three tiems, adn every time I went home more then satisfied. Giant staging area, Even bigger field. Pizza is excellent too.
Cons: Its in the middle of Massachusetts, so its an even longer drive for those who are ou of the area.

Canobie paintball is nice becuase its a good location. Its in southern New Hampshire, but its far north enough so that its closer for you maine and vermont AOers.

Anybody else have any idea? I'd love to meet all of you. Just so I can shoot the hell out of some of ya

    Thanks for listening.

I forgot it was BYOP. They have relaly good field paint and prices, so I always buy from them .Canobie isn't BYOP.

I already talked to Noam from Canobie last year, we're pretty good buddies but he said he can't match the prices joey D got from last years place of event, so Canobie is definitly outa the question. Which SUCKS cause I'm there every weekend

You should go to each gun manufacturers forum or call them up. Ask the OWNER of the company why his gun is better. When you get your answers come back here and tell us what they said.

Another good place in Upton is fox4 paintball. They have a pretty big staging are, 25 dollar admission which includes all-day air and byop they also sell paint and I believe its like 50 for premium and around 65 for evil. I havent been there since January so I can't say for sure.

As I'm sure many other New Englanders will attest to, every single AO-NE meet thus far (with the exception of AO-NE Day III I think, which was held at P&L's indoor field in Taunton because of the cold) has been held at Cape Cod Paintball with very good turn-out every time (yes, even people from Maine and Vermont made the trip down). Dansim, and later Joey D, managed to get some very good prices for us every time. The fields down there are very nice and the refs are fairly decent, but we usually don't need refs (after all, we're talking about AOers here ). Anyway. Another alternative could be, and I stress the could because at this point it's still uncertain as to when the airball fields will be installed, Camp Paintball in Kingston, MA. It's only $10 for admission, $10 for all day air, and is BYOP (cases sell for about $60 dollars though so support the field and buy some paint there). In terms of fields, unless they have airball installed, its a great woodsball field complete with bunkers and even a fort. The refs are great people and I really can't say enough about the field and its owners. I'm not too sure what kind of capacity Camp would be able to hold though so that might be something to think about. Just my two cents.

i 2nd what John is saying about Camp but if an alternative to the Cape is used -- I suggest Fox4 instead of Friendly Fire.

Fox4 is BYOP, $20 admissions, 2-3 Airball/X-ball fields, big rec-ball area, etc... Good staff and prices.

              Just my 2 cents.

I only went to Fox 4 once and I got some bad vibes.. from everyone. Maybe it was just me. And this was a while ago.

I've never been to camp or cape paintball, but I've heard that both are great.

As did I. I strongly suggest switching from Friendly Fire to Fox4. The staff at FF is not very good, while the staff at Fox4 is great. They know how to have a good time, while still doing their duty well. Also, you cant forget the great shop that Fox4 has, not to mention that Scoops (a fried food and ice cream resturant) is 100 feet away from Fox4. Plus its cheaper.

are you crazy, planning AONE 7 without me? bastards

marko sent me an email about this thread, I figured I would chime in.

if you guys want me to plan out another AONE day, just ask nicely, im sure I can devote some time to the event. I was thinking June 5th. also, maybe at fox 4 this year. they have a great staff, great fields, and best of all, its BYOP! I think everyone can agree on that being a cool thing!

Within the next few weeks I will make it a point to get in touch with the field owners and get things in order to have the event there. I will have to start looking to hotels in the area and post them up.

so, if you want some help planning, let me know. I am more than happy to assist. If someone else wants to take over the reigns, I am not opposed to that either, I am all about passing the torch.

                          Hey Joey,

Here's a thought, Strategy Plus in CT has said they would love to have us this year for an event. It is right near the Bradley airport for the traveling folk and real close to the Casino's so we can go and Party afterwards.

We could even do a mini-scenario event, since all the others are speedball orientated. We could even do a story line for an all day game.

the owner of the field, Chris, has already mentioned an interest for us coming think about it?

You can link the field through our web site.

                          Ps. They have speedball too!

Wasn't AO NE III the day Jon came up, and only 12 of us played? If so, it was at CCPB (which has great fields, IMO).

If you could plan it again this time, it'd be awesome. My friend and I had a blast last AO NE, and as much as we liked CCPBs fields, I know I'd be willing to try another field for some more variety.

I've only been to Strategy Plus once, but I visit Supply Depot (relatively) often. Chris is a cool guy, and the fields were fun when I was there (although it was before the Airball/X-Ball/Speedball fields arrived, so the fields were woods).

Fox 4 gets my vote! I played there almost exclusivly (aside from Camp) last season. Their staff is OUTSTANDING, and the onsite kitchen really does it for me! The prices are excellent as well. BYOP! IMHO, Fox 4 offers a full service package for players, i.e., proshop, food, drink, excellent fields, extremely helpful staff, and did I mention BYOP?

EDIT - I wont be shooting a mag this time, as I no longer own one.
