AO NorCal vs SoCal Tourny Format Discussion

I was talking to Zak about the XBall format - because everybody gets a good amount of play time, games are fast, etc. - it's a good format. After TexBall - everyone seemed satisfied with the amount of play time.

The problem with it is: It might be too intense for what people want to do, some of you guys simply might not want to, and it's difficult to run without experienced people to do it. They also might not have an XBall field so...

However - looking for suggestions on a format that most would like to do.

BTW, I'm not organizing anything - just getting the ball rolling.

im down for what ever. I like x-ball format as well but it is quite intense to play x-ball all weekend. I think we should play a mix of games: x-ball, centerflag, 5-man, 7-man, 3-man, nppl, psl. I for one need expierence in x-ball so i would lketo predominatly play that. Im hoping i can up my skill in tourny style paintball that weekend. Ill be pushin myself to play the best i can and get better.

X-Ball and 5-man would be my pick.

However, since we have so many people going, 5-man might be too few... we'd have too many people on the sidelines waiting. Of course, we have 3 fields, but not everyone might wanna play tourny.

Jon was supposed to have an Xball field installed after Christmas. But, with the rain, I don't know if that was ever realized. I'll try and give him a call on Monday to see where that plan is at.

I've never played Xball before. If it were to be an Xball type tourny I'd be in the air line after each game. (I run a 45/45 on a mag) None the less I'm down for 5 on 5 or even 7 on 7. Depends on the field set-ups. If there is enough bunkers I'm down for as many vs as many will fit.

the airball field that is normally at breakout is kinda on the smallish side so i hope they beef it up and stick up another bigger field next to it

im up for the Xball formate. I have only played xball once but had a great time. but please keep the teams small

No matter how many people we get on a team 5,7,15 will these teams be organized by players or are we just going to randomly select numbers from a hat and thats what team we are on?

well if we can play Xball my understanding is that it will need to be set teams. So in that case, we put all the names in a hat a draw out teams


if we use 5 or 7 man format I think the first 5 or 7 peaple at the entry are who plays for their respective sides

I feel this way everbody gets a chance to play in the tourny and neither side can stack the deck

Well I'm a "free agent". I don't care who I play for, just as long as I'm playing. I wouldn't mind a hybrid team (some NorCalers and SoCalers unified).
