Oct 14 - NYS Troopers Longobardo and Baker Fundraiser...any AOers up for it?

Anyone from New York has probably heard of the whole Bucky Phillips manhunt going on. For those who don't know about it, here's some quick background. Bucky Phillips broke out of jail last April, and is believed to be responsible for shooting three NYS Troopers. He was on the FBI's Top Ten Most Wanted list for a brief period, until he was finally caught late Friday night on Sept 8th. It took 25 SWAT officers and 12 dogs just to make the capture after an extensive chase.

On August 31, Troopers Longobardo and Baker were staking out Bucky's former girlfriend's house when they were shot in the woods by what is believed to be a high powered rifle. Trooper Longobardo was shot through the thigh severing his femoral artery. He was airlifted to Erie County Medical Center where doctors had to amputate his leg. He died the next day. Trooper Baker was shot in the back. The bullet traveled completely through his body and both sides of his body armor. He is still in critical condition in Erie, PA.

Trooper Joseph Longobardo, age 32, passed away on September 3rd, and left behind his wife, Teri, and 13 month old son, Louis. Trooper Donald Baker is still in critical condition.

On October 14, Hornets Nest Paintball, in Ancramdale, NY (east of Saugerties), is holding an open day of play as a fundraiser for the NYS Trooper Foundation Longobardo Fund.

ALL entry fees and $10 per case of paint sold that day will be donated to the Trooper Joseph A. Longobardo Fund.
    To pre-register, call them up.

Just to reiterate: ALL entry fees and $10 per case of paint sold that day will be donated to the Trooper Joseph A. Longobardo Fund. Please take the time to enjoy a day of paintball while giving back to these heroes and their families.
