I'm new to the AO community as well. I've got hotel paid for and am working on airline tickets. Bringing my son too. Just a little nervous taking markers and tanks as checked baggage. I've been down the lost bags road before. Would be depressed if my gear got lost. Anyone have experience taking this type of gear on an airline?

Paintball markers, not a terrible problem. Keep them in pieces. And if you happen to have the instruction manuals for them, put them right with the markers so when the TSA opens the bag (and they will) there's no questions.Originally posted by kjcent View PostI'm new to the AO community as well. As for the tanks, you need to degas and remove the regulator on the bottle. Once that's done, you're in pretty good shape.

I'd print out both of those 2 TSA pages and keep them with the paintball equipment as well.

I'm going, and so is Ochsy. I still need to register and put in my paint order though. Procrastination... this week though.

To everyone flying... To those who haven't much experience in these matters, you can always ship your guns and tanks to the hotel you are staying at and then ship them back home. I have done this myself with just my tanks numerous times in the past. Just call the hotel ahead of time and let them know what the story is and ask them if it's ok to have them hold the package for you untill you get there.. I've never had a hotel say no.
