    Recruiting for Geisterjagers for '09

D-Day '08 has come and gone, and it was glorious in many ways. The Geisterjagers once again distinguished themselves (on and off the field). Registration is open for '09, and several veteran GJ's have already signed up. For those who are thinking of joining the Geisterjagers for the first time, consider the following. For all the fun and antics the Geisterjagers are known for in camp, cutting it with the Geisterjagers comes down to being able to perform on the field.

The Geisterjagers are tasked with some of the most difficult assignments in the most rugged areas of the field, often against extreme odds, and we are expected to prevail. We WILL be directed to redeploy from one area to another on a moments notice several times over the course of a day, and we will have to hoof it at a high pace each time. We WILL spearhead assaults, leading the way each time. We WILL be given recon missions in remote, difficult areas of the field. We WILL be assigned to go where the fighting is the fiercest and face the best the Allies have to offer. In short, the Geisterjagers will be assigned to accomplish the impossible, and we WILL succeed. The Geisterjagers always play with honor and integrity; this is non-negotiable and completely inflexible.

This isn't a unit for everyone. If this sounds like the kind of challenge you are looking for at OK D-Day, you may be Geisterjager material. If the above sounds like more than you are willing to take on, consider more options. For those who have what it takes, the experience will be unlike anything you have ever had in paintball.

Why only watch us when you can join us?

Some players on other forums were concerned about being effective in the Geisterjagers playing with pumps markers. Rest assured, skilled pump players are welcome in this unit. Every year, we have several pump players who perform quite well. In the Geisterjagers, brains, heart, and guts are more important than the marker you take on the field with you. Don't let a marker keep you from playing with us. We WILL put you and whatever marker you bring to good use, and you WILL have a good time regardless of what marker you bring, so long as you bring your desire and intensity.

No, this is the unit you sign up for if you want more challenging assignments and more fun than the 82nd. The 82nd is fine and I respect its players, but nothing you have done previously in paintball will compare with camping and running with the Geisterjagers. No one has more fun on or off the field than we do.

Shame on you Custer.... the GJ's might actually be a fun group to run with but saying the 82ndAB has done nothing previously that would compare is just 'dookie'.

I'll stand by exactly what I typed. "[N]othing you have done previously in paintball will compare with camping and running with the Geisterjagers". I chose my words carefully to promote my unit and to not post anything objectionable about an Allied unit.

BTW Kaos, since you have been gone from D-Day, the rules for participating in recruiting threads for other units, especially those from the other side, have changed. Unless you have something positive to say about the unit engaged in the recruiting, participation in the thread is verboten. If you want to promote the 82nd or any other Allied unit, you can start your own thread rather than posting on mine.

See there you go getting your panties in a wad.....
                      1. I said something positive, you just chose to ignore it. " the GJ's might actually be a fun group to run with"
                      2. This is AO... Automags Online, not the OK/DD forum. There is no such recruiting thread rule here.
                      3. You mentioned the 82nd first... not me. I merely responded NICELY to the 'pot shot' you took at an Allied unit I previously played in.

The fact is people can have a memorable time no matter what side they're on, whether they're in the GJ's or the 82nd. There's some great people on both sides. You wanna tell everyone how great you think your unit is, cool by me. You wanna promote your unit by posting something negative about my old unit... I'll happily reply again.

To lighten the mood as to which side/unit is better.

Both are fine units with excellent leadership. You wouldn't go wrong with either.

Don, thanks for the work on the posters. That's top notch stuff.
