AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
what kind of things you would like to see in a night game and thing you don't like.....getting ideas for a possable night game
thanks
Light is always an issue. Do you want to try to light the field? Only parts of it? Should everyone have flashlights? Is black clothing allowed? Do your refs have cheap Kmart NVGs (believe it or not a couple fields around here have done it)?
I used to have this big MF'er that strapped on to your barrel and looked like a giant plastic silencer. It was something like 3.5" OD, took a bunch of AA batteries, and had a bunch of forward facing lights. It had an accompanying hopper with lights in it too... You had to buy crappy paint from the company who made it, but it was glow-in-the-dark and the hopper charged it, while the "silencer" provided backlighting almost like those Tracers you used to see in the 90s.'
Those might be fun to try to find; I only got mine 4 or 5 years ago, from the company.
Best night game I ever played was at D-Day last year, they had military flares, fireworks, and burning oil drums and it was still confusing as hell with all sorts of friendly fire.
My recommendations: Get different colored glow sticks that way teams are easier to identify.

That was actually made close by to me, and I believe they are still around.
I like 'helicopters' or the equivalent at night. They are easy to designate, always walk, and help clean up areas that are silly intermixed with both sides. Taking them out is kind of hard for the refs though.
There is a local field that likes to have a mad charge to a base at night; that will end in disaster some day.
Well run base security is nice to have. Poor base security is aggravating. I love stalking at twilight, but pitch black is a little dangerous at most fields.
Solar powered yard lights are an excellent road marker.
Areas with permanent bright lights and shadows are fun.
Buildings at night bite.
It would be nice to try something highly organized on both sides at night. The usual random stragglers and chaos get old by 10:00pm.
