    Road Trip idea...

My team is thinking of going on a road trip next year. If you could go to any scenario in the U.S. which one would you play in and why? I am posting this in the AO forum because I know that I will get intelligent responses unlike other infamous forums

depending on your funds Paintball USA in houston Tx Sherwood forest in La Porte, In EMR in New milford, Pa and herbies in Fallon Nv These fields are MXS venues. houston has some good open areas and woods play, they are working on more buildings. sherwood has a great castle and 2 keeps, good woods ball play. EMR has a couple of forts and lots of woods area. If you go there you'll learn that up sucks. Herbies is all concept feilds and very open fun to play. which ever field you go to you will be made to feel at home at.

    hope that helps

We would definitely prefer lots of woods.

have to back what the dawg said there. those 4 fields are all pretty good. my personal pick wouold have to be sherwood. really nice fied, not alot of hills(like EMR)and is really fun to play. EMR is another great field and they have the national paintball museum. however...UP SUCKS!!!!! now i live here in houston and paintball USA is right down the road. hands down the best field in TX. they have a really nice mixture of open fields and woods...with many 2 story structures to play. i would highy reccomend this field, because its flat!!! MXS' texas throwdoen is teh 1st weekend in Dec. you should try to make that one as its one of the larger secnarios around.

So far EMR is in the lead. I think

I'm glad to hear that. Because it didn't look too impressive from the web site.

Unless it looks worse . What is good for some will not be good for us and vice versa. Without good pics I don't want to go.

Check out the photo galleries at Scenarioball.com. They have lots of pics of EMR, Sherwood, and PBUSA in the MXS events section. All from last year. In the Throwdown Gallery, game pictures start on page 17, before that, it's mostly campsite/tradeshow stuff.

Throwdown should be a blast. PBUSA is mostly moderate-higth/density woods with lots of roads, trails and structures and a couple large concept fields (only one is what I'd call a typical tourney field, the hyperball). Definitely the type of field where it's worth it to wear camo. Plus a trade show that's bigger than a few of the tourneys I've been to, Texas BBQ (these guys know how to cook meat), and other side-attractions.

EMR is an awesome field as well. Lots of territory, a variety of ground cover from open fields to old growth timber. Some concept fields, structures, a small town field complete with a few 2 story buildings and oh, yeah... A 5 acre, 2 story castle. Also has a swimming pond and bunkhouses you can use if you register early enough to find a spot.

Haven't been to Sherwood, but I've heard good things.

Herbies in Reno is an awesome field, quite possibly the best kept secret in scenario paintball, although maybe not what you're asking for. Being high desert, you can trip over the tallest vegitation, although the owner is reportedly considering irrigation so he can plant trees (when we say he's out to please the players, we're not kidding). It's as if somebody took 80 acres worth of speedball feilds seperated only by netting and dropped the nets. Not a lot of sneaking around, but boy is it a rush. Supposedly they're building some structures for this year's game. Last year they almost totally revamped the field, so I don't doubt they'll be cool. One of the big bonuses here are the people. The players are some of the coolest, most honest players around and this is at a field that's only done scenarios for the last 3 years. And newbies that hustle. I don't know what it is, but you don't see a lot of 'camper' types out there. Oh, and it's in Fernley, NV not Fallon. About an hour east of Reno.

Well, it sounds like Herbies is out of the question. lol

I'm not going to speak for the rest of the team here, but personally, me and speedball only mix to form one thing....the Special Olympics. Plus, I'm really particial to the shade of big old oak trees.
