I wanted to see what those who play scenarios thought of playing night paintball and if they've had any experience with any of the glow in the dark paintball products: tracer setups, UV Hoppers, glow-in-the dark paintballs. I just wanted to see what you all thought..
Night Paintball?

I went to OK D-Day and they had a night game. If people wanted to they could buy the glow in the dark paintballs and some kind of hopper that would "charge" them up. Not many people bought the glow inthe dark paintballs but some did. They were pretty neat. You could see them really well in the dark. Then you could see them hit the ground and bounce. The worst part about the night game is that you have no idea where you are shooting so the glow in the dark balls would have been cool to have.RT Pro ULE w/ Stiffi and 68/3k Flatline...... YUMMY!

yeah...I think the ultimate setup would be having a night vision rifle scope on a gun with Glow-in-the dark charging hopper with GID paintballs...that just sounds like you would be hurting fools with it..Comment

Tracers work both ways.
All hits count at night, so once you open up with glow in the darks, everyone knows where you are.
Now if glow in the darks became a forced standard, playing normally with breaks would be cool, but that won't happen.
I like to play sneaky at night, so no glow balls for me.Comment

I've done a ton of night play and it's a blast. I've yet to go to a game where the glowing paint was heavily used. As has been said, it's like a big neon sign showing people where you are. I'd rather do some practice shooting at 250 to get used to the trajectory and go out blind.
Also, with the better NV scopes, Gen3 and some Gen2, you can see lighter colored paintballs as tracers through the scope, but the other guy can't see them coming

night play is one of the best times to play paintball...i have used the tracer unit before but the bright muzzle light flash that charges the balls is a dead give away of where you are. what is fun is night vision. our whole team has gen 3 night vision. some mount it on the tac-one e-mags or wear a head mount. it changes the quite a bit when you can see at night. you also catch alot of cheaters as well. whats funny is hitting them with your IR light, watching the paint break on them, and they continue to shoot at you. they must not realize that with night vision you can see pretty much anything that is happening. oh well....ThunderStruck Scenario Team- Yep...it's new hotness in every box!!

Judster...how do you wear a head mount Night Vision unit with your pb mask on? I'd love to see pictures how they do it just so that i can understand..Comment

you wear it over your mask, pushed really close to the lens. get one that is sits really close to the face . the headmount is then ziptied to the mask. i have a monicle NV unit so the NV only covers one eye, so when i need to use the NV it is right there and when i just want to walk around in the dark i can do that too. with the mask on you loose about 20% of perfierial(sp) vision of the NV. but for scenario purposes it serves just fine. you will need to get an IR light like a M3 tac light to mount to the gun because the light is what you will be aiming by as the NV throws off your aiming a bit. im sure there are some pics of us in them but i dont have any at the moment. i will be at shatner ans the throwdown if you would like to see how they work. just look for the Blitzkrieg banner and you will find us.ThunderStruck Scenario Team- Yep...it's new hotness in every box!!
