    Real military smoke generators!

I am in the process of trying to buy one of these. It should make a great addition to the field and enhance mission making. If anyone else is interested in one, we could possibly go in together and save a few bucks by buying a couple or more.

When I talked to the guy who is selling them, he said they work great, almost too well. He used one recently at a paintball game near a small town. When they were running it, the smoke was rising because it was warm so they kept running the generator. As the smoke rose, it cooled and then started coming back down.....right into the town. They had the cops come out and make them shut it down because it got to where they couldn't see across main street in town! You can use most any oil in them, but I will most likely use mineral oil as it will be safe for the respirtory system. They are selling for $550 plus shipping which should be under $100 (220 pounds), but he'll knock off some for a multiple purchase so if aanyone else is interested, drop an email or pm me.

Sweet frosted christcakes, thats a bunch of smoke. But i think there are still health risks for those with asthma. But maybe the mineal oil will be fine.

One of the teams out here, The Stealth Possums, uses a hand-held size smoke maching that runs off baby oil. We've had no problems with it causing choking or any other odd effect at at any games they have attended. It blankets the field really well and the only side effect that I can even think of is smelling like baby powder if you walk through the smoke...kinda takes away the macho scenario stench that so many players pride themselves with.

It just looks like a large leaf blower. I'm not quiet sure where they bought it from. I searched my old pics and those on our site and I can't find one at the moment. I know that there used to be a pic of it posted on the POG but for some reason that site isn't loading for me anymore. I'll see if I can get a pick for you.

              smoke (fog) generator

The unit my team Team Stealth Possun uses is a large capacity thermal fogging unit. It is a portable gas powered unit that uses light weight mineral oil (baby oil) to produce large amounts of thick white fog. The droplet size can be adjusted on the machine to compensate for different weather conditions. It can be carried by one man and it has been used in scenario's in socal to conceal troop movements and to disrupt the enemy on the field.

Here is a link to our team website and the manufacturer of the unit. The state of Virginia had several on sale used for about 225 a while back, google it and see what you can find out.........

Something else I have been toying with is a Burgess propane powered insect fogger with mineral oil in it. It really puts out a lot of smoke. I haven't had a chance to use it is a game yet though. As for the big machine, I host large scale scenario games and it will be a working prop that the players will be able to secure and use themselves to their own team's advantage (under the watchful eye of a staff member). The seller tells me the smoke output/fluid consumption can be adjusted widely so I don't think we will need to haul around a drum with it. Since the thing weighs 220 pounds, I may end up mounting it on a small vehicle.
