You're right, Pyroman, SOMEONE is putting out money for this thing to happen... But it's not you or the players, so don't worry about it so much.
Ways to make money on a FREE event:
Chances are they are still going to be selling paint there, so they can make some money on that.
They can sell vendor spots.
Sponsors.
Concessions.
Raffles.
Retail sales.
The list can go on, and on, and on.
In addition to all that they're getting people interested in scenario games, and if people come out to play for free and have a good time, chances are those same people will actually look for other events that these promotors are putting on in the coming years.
Oh yah, and there's the whole PUBLICITY thing as well, which is always good.
Good luck with the event fellas, sounds like a lot of cheap fun!Comment

Breck
Caltrop is planning a team Road Trip to Bearclaw in 2005. It sounds like April time frame but nothing is set in stone yet. I'm not sure how many of us will make it out there but I would expect a 3 at an absolute minimum (Pickle, Doc, and myself.)Originally posted by RembrandtBreck are you coming for the Bearclaw game in Tennessee by any chance.Comment

Lets see if we can clear somethings up.
This game is not produced ANY of the producers involved. 24hourgames.com, Nocer productions, or MPP. It is being produced by a new upstart company called Hog Wild Entertainment. The producers are there to be a part of a game that THEY get the chance to play with all of the players that have supported them over the year.
I am personally looking forward to running with some of the teams that I have watched play all year at the field that we produce our events. At 24 hourgames.com we have some great teams that have never play on any other field. This is a chance for them to get out and see a different field and meet some of the other teams that are out there.
Billy has had a very successful year at low country paintball. If he is willing to let a bunch of players play at his field for nothing good for him! Hog Wild Entertainment could not buy this much publicity so if they want to put on this game for free Good for them!!
This is about getting back to what is important playing paintball! Why does a scenario player need a high-end gun? Because sometimes it's 7 on 70.

Sounds good. I'm sure the Blackhearts will be coming back to Bearclaw again and again since its a great field and the people are great. So I look forward to playing with your team then.Originally posted by BreckCaltrop is planning a team Road Trip to Bearclaw in 2005. It sounds like April time frame but nothing is set in stone yet. Rembrandt,
I had fun playing against the Blackhearts last April when I flew out there. The positive experience that I had there is one of the reasons that we are going to make a try as a team (or partial team) this year."Don't hit at all if you can help it; don't hit a man if you can possibly avoid it; but if you do hit him, put him to sleep."

I had fun playing against you as well Pickle. I would love to either play against your team or with them. Either way should be fun. I hope as a team you West Coast style of playing will influence the East Coast as we might have influenced you.Originally posted by PickleRembrandt,

Perhaps we could even play alongside each other
I hope we get enough Caltrop Guerrillas to go

Clowns!
Well I might know one or two that I would trust on a plane
. Actually, I don't trust any of 'em
. If nothing else we can use them as a diversion. "Look a moving polka dot! Nah, that's just Pogo!"
