Scenario News, the only magazine dedicated to scenario paintball, is proud to announce that Barrie 'Nudi' Reid will be taking over the editor's spot as of the October 2004 issue. She has been the interim editor as the transition of Lawrence 'TB' Wright from editor to publisher was made. This will allow the magazine the much needed 'new blood' to take the magazine to the next level. Along with the changes listed, Scenario News will be printed in the standard glossy format that all other paintball magazines have been. Signing a agreement with a printer just a few days ago, Lawrence had this to say, "This will allow Scenario News to regain part of the customer confidence that we have lost of the last few months. This hasn't been a major issue to the majority of readers but some subscribers have not gotten their issues. I take this seriously and I am now spending the time, effort and money needed to get the magazine back on track for everyone. By no longer printing the magazine in-house, we will be able to get a faster turn-around then ever. We have also signed an agreement with a mailing house to assure prompt delivery of the magazines on a monthly basis. Barrie will be taking over as the editor and will be responsible for the creative look and feel of the magazine. We will also be adding other staff members as we can afford, to take care of other customer service issues, but Barrie is a stickler for great customer service. I will continue to be involved in the operation of Scenario News but more in the back end then the fore-front."
Scenario News is also changing it's website. In a further push to regain some of the confidence that may have been lost in the past few months, Scenario News is putting all back issues on their website for download, for free. You will need to register and agree to the copyright, but after that you can download and print the same issue that was mailed since the begining of the magazine in February 2002. This will be a year in arrears, meaning you can get all the issues from the first one to December 2003, after that they will not be available until a year after release. That means the January 2004 issue will not be available until January 2005. We are doing this so that people can see where the magazine started as well as where it is heading. Also, if you like the magazine enough you will want to subscribe and be up to date on the current information as well. Speaking of subscriptions, we have already implementated procedures to make sure that people do not fall through the cracks. We have a updated contact page so that you can send a specific email to who it needs to goto, we will also be implementing a online complaint system for subscriptions. This will give you as tracking number and a way to check on the status of your issue or subscription. We will also be putting up all of the past photos that were taken at the scenario games we attended or we had photos at. Some will be duplicates from reporters and publicists, others will be images you will only find here.
If you aren't wanting to download the full issues and just want to read the stories, we are working on that as well. We are taking each story from the issues of Scenario News and converting them to an online searchable format. This will be done by topic and it will allow everyone to enjoy the type of content that Scenario News is famous for. Lawrence had this to say; "Scenario News has always been the leader in scenario paintball coverage, we've sponsored promtors from the beginning and the staff has always been players who travel to these games to play. What we are trying to do is show scenario players and the industry that we aren't about just making money. The truth is advertising in Scenario News is less the 15% of the magazine. It was started as a place to cover scenario games and have articles that are important to scenario players. We want everyone to enjoy the success that Scenario News has enjoyed through its 31 issues."
Scenario News is also announcing a membership drive. If you join the website this month, you will be placed in the drawing for one of the following prizes:
