Fortunately, spousal approval has been granted. She did manage to solicit reciprocal approval for her to take a trip in January or February to visit a girlfriend of hers who lives in CA. Seemed a fair trade to me!!

My "play" time in this event will actually come from the production side. If I'm not in the production trailer handling communications (calling in missions, coordinating the introduction of special props into the game, liasoning communications between the head ref and Spiro, etc), then I'll likely split the playing area in half with Spiro so that we can be "on field" monitoring all the action first hand. While some might consider this as "work", I can't think of anything more fun and gratifying than helping to coordinate (for those lucky first 600 people who register) what I anticipate will be "THE scenario game experience of a lifetime"!

Although the Tac-One will remain at home, this is going to be on heck of an awesome good time for all!

Remember... this is an "abandoned" housing area and needs to be readied for SAFE PLAY. I suspect that all of the houses have their window openings boarded up. Of the many that will be used, with inside access allowed, they'll need those boards removed. The area needs to be made presentable to the 600 registered players and to all the media, manufacturers and family who will be attending. Here's a link to the request for help in doing a "pre-clean"... Help with the pre-clean, earn our hearty THANKS and get a special BlackCat shirt!

As to being a referee for this event... I'd suggest that you send an email to [email protected] with "CA REFEREE" as the subject. Include any information that might help him evaluate your level of experience and how you would fare as a Ref. With 600 players, our ref staff will be providing an extremely important function. To many players, their overall experience will be greatly influenced by how well our refs do their job. It will require a dedication to be attentive to what is happening around them... to fully understand all of the rules... to be "fair and consistent" when enforcing those rules... and to continually encourage fair-play and good sportsmanship. It goes without saying that each referee will be entrusted with some serious responsibility. This is not meant to deter you... but rather to be sure that you understand the importance that we place upon our referee staff.

BTW, I don't have ANY inside information. I don't know any of the people putting this event on. I'm just trying to relay information from the BlackCat forums here. Not trying to bust on anyone, just don't want to give the wrong impression. That said, I have no idea what the cleanup involves.

Insurance Waivers must be filled out and submitted by everyone participating in each event. All minors must have an Insurance Waiver that is signed by their parent or legal guardian in order for them to participate in the event. The insurance waiver is for BlackCat Paintball Productions only. You will also be required to fill out and sign an additional waiver at the event for the Hosting Field unless one is provided for you on their web site.

Medical Release Waivers must be signed by a parent or legal guardian of minors (17 years old and under) whose parent or guardian will not be participating in the event. This form authorizes BlackCat Paintball Productions to seek medical attention for minors in case of accident or injury during the course of the event.

Forfeitures of fees shall apply to everyone, with no exceptions. If you have registered for an event and are unable to attend, we cannot substitute events or refund your registration. If the event is cancelled for any reason prior to the event, your registration fee will be returned to you in full within 21 days. If you are ejected from the event for misconduct, violation of safety and / or game rules or for any other infraction that management deems as valid, no fees shall be refunded to you. This includes entrance fees, paint fees, air fees or any other expenses that you may have incurred.

Event hours shall be from 1:00pm Saturday until 1:00pm on Sunday the following day with a dinner and breakfast break in between. Some events may not run for the duration outlined above due to inclement weather, emergencies, or lack of participation by players. This option shall be at the sole discretion of the scenario producer and does not constitute a refund of any kind.

Included for your fee are the following: game pass allowing you to participate in the event, commemorative game patch, character role card, and entrance into prize drawings.
