Any scenario/woodsball players shooting angels

I am looking into buying an angel for the rate of fire and reliability, but I mainly play woodsball and scenario ball. Do you guys think it will work well in this enviroment as well as a speedball one? Also if you do play woodsball or scenario ball with an angel, whats your setup?

Well, I do see my share of Angels (some) on the scenario courses, but it might be a little overkill (and overpriced) for what you are going to use it for. I'd recommend a Tac-One (reliability & good ROF) or even a Tippman. If you need to go electro (if you play serious airball/speedball), I'm sure there are less expensive alternatives that will be just as, if not a little more reliable.

Don't use one myself, but I've seen a number of them out on the field. Decent effeciency, accuracy, and weight, plus very good ROF are the obvious plusses. And if the event you're at allows full-auto, you can do that (It's really a waste of paint, but it is kinda fun for a while).

As for reliablility, I'd say that's neutral. I'll admit that they're pretty good if you don't mess with them too much, but when one goes down, your chances of fixing it on a picnic table are lousy. WDP techs and outlets for the soldering iron don't exactly grow on trees. Most fields I've been to don't stock parts for them.

Drawbacks are pretty much the same as any other electro. Light trigger in shrubbery and electronics in the rain. Nothing worse than having a nice crawl blown because a twig touched your trigger, except maybe killing your gun because you slipped in the mud and it wound up in a puddle.

And, of course, there's the loadout issue. The problem with being able to shoot fast is that you wind up doing so and have to either carry extra paint or risk running out. Run with too big of a pack and you tire faster, lose your maneuverability, and generally start acting more like a tank than a player.

Thats a shame, but I heard just the opposite on the angel owners fourm. They said the guns are very reliable and the sell to a lot of woodsballers. Its just Im a big guy like 290 pounds and six 2 and the tac one looks really wierd in my hands cause its so small. I need somehing a little more substantial and the tippmanns dont offer the rate of fire Im looking for. What do you suggest?

I have only seen one from a distance, but Autococker has come out with the Tactical Marker. That might be more up your alley. I also echo the sentiments above, I've been to quite a few scenarios where it rained & the electro players all had to run for cover....while me & my mag played on for the rest of the day.

Yeah to my knowledge the Armotech/Warsensor guns require a lot of matinence and cleaning. I really need something that is reliable and can put out a large volume of fire in the woods, but then switch over to speedball.

go with a warsensor, it doesnt require a lot of maintenence, and i dont think you could even compare that to an angel in terms of time spent on it, with the composite bolt (no o-rings) there is only one o-ring in the entire gun, it has very simple internals that anyone can understand, the 66 uses a hop-up brrel like in airsoft guns, it has better range and acuracy than a tippmann flatline, this gun is great for anyone, except speedballers due to the obvious weight, as for looks it rocks, it has a completely enclosed bolt, with a real cocking t handle like a real m-16 or m-4, it comes stock with a m-4 stock, or you can get a solid style one, also you can buy ris handguards for it, my personal advice would be to get a ws66 ris with a sight mount from either jassepaintball.com or devilmountainsports.com it includes the ris hand guard (it has mounts like the tac-one body and is all metal), i wouldnt go to expertshot.com though, from my personal experiences the guys an ******* that will just try to sell you stuff you dont want

and one last thing, you 66 comes with a fake clip kit, but very soon a company called scepter (scepter-combat.com) will be making a competely working clip kit that looks real, itll come in 20 round 30 40 and 100 round drum magazines, it will be all mechanical too!

Actually we sale plenty of angels to scenario players. What they are looking for is durability and reliability and you cant get much better than an angel in the electto world. Also....plenty of firing modes for those games that allow full auto and burst.

As far as the trigger and rain. Neither one is an issue. Your angle will not have an issue in the rain and you can adjust your trigger as stiff as you like.......I assume most high end guns allow trigger adjustments.....right?

Providing you purchase wisely and the used gun you select is in good working order there is not much to do to keep it maintained. A couple of drops of oil every 8000 shots always keep mine working great. If you are buying new then you should have a killer right out of the box.

At most scenario events we attend the Angel is one of the main electros we see. Our biggest client base are woodsball/scenario players so it is obvious that some people do prefer the quality associated with WDP.

yeah, most people assume "Scenario = Tippmanns and Real lookalike guns"...

On my scenario team there are 2 angels, an intimidator, and a race cocker...

Timmies are pretty good sized.
Old school shockers with 88/4500 should be big enough. They might not fire the fastest, but you can pick one up fairly cheap, are pretty reliable, don't chop, and are pretty quiet.

I'd get one myself, but an old school shocker on an 88ci tank is a bit big for my 150lbs 5'8".

oh yeah. and Old Shockers can run on CO2 just fine.
Although most markers do if you have the correct setup.

As Koosh said, 10th has a couple Angel users on the team and I'm one. I've used 3 different electros in the rain and never had a problem with the markers (99 Shocker SF, Nemesis Intimadator and the LCD Angel).

My LCD has become the "lend-out" marker for our team, when somebodys marker goes down out comes my Angel. Everyone seems to like it as much as I do, great ROF, decent gas milage, all around very reliable. Only real problem I've had is if theres a bit of down time, my Angel can have a few hot shots. Doesn't happen unless I haven't fired for quite some time, 1/2 hour + (Scenario).

Providing your tank is not at fault just check your adjuster piston (small piston) in your minireg. You will either see some small brass material under the orings or the small black oring on the small piston will look damaged. Replace this and you are good to go
