I use NV and have helped many many players get set up with night vision, what type of questions do you have?

yep and works great on the tac-one...get either a gen2+ or gen3...dont waste your money on anything lower then that cause you will get owned by the more expencive NV sets. oh and dont borrow a set from someone...ask notbob about that

Never borrow a NV Set from someone on the other side....especially if that someone is Kahuna

I don't have my own NV, but I've seen them used and had them used on me. For someone with poor natural night vision (like me) even a Gen I is better than nothing. I've been looking at NV myself, and http://www.linepair.com/main.shtml seems to be the most informative site I've yet seen on NV, how it works and what the various features are.

          yep

Actuyally hawk ( my captain) told me about the story of the night vision gift ! from kahuna hehehehe
I need ta get ahold of you kahuna. Hawk told me to talk to ya about this but i didnt know you were on this forum!
i seen the ones on line pair and i researched some other sites as well. I am gonna go at least gen 2+. I been looking at the gen 3 b grade on linepair but i found a site today that had some super nice gen 2+'s for under 15,00 so i think im gonna go that way.
As for questions, im wondering first off i notice that the gen 3 dosent say anything about having a built in ir illuminator. so im wondering how bright it would look if someone with a sight saw someone with a gen 3 commin directly at them.
Next im wondering what the difference in manufacturers is. I been told to stay away from all the russian modles as the quality of them are supposedly bad.
Also wanna find out whats up with some of the gen2+'s i been lookin at.
Should i get a bigger eyepiece to make it easier to use and all?
I know im sounding like a moron and all but if i dont ask i dont find out i guess.
Alot of people are also telling me theyre real hard to play with and to get a headset, but i dont think thats gonna work for my style of play i use with my squad and all.
Thanx again to everyone for taking the time to read this and post theyre experiences.

first DO NOT look at the prices on linepair that is not your price I sell to all scenario players at a nice discount. I can get you gen 3 for under 1500. Also chech the night vision forums on www.scenarioball.com for the post there. email me and lets talk.

This is not a purchase that you want to take a chance getting screwed on. Go for quality (Gen II+ or Gen III US tubes) and buy from someone you definitely trust. I strongly recommend geting your NV from scenarioball.com , Duane (Kahuna) can be trusted and you'll end up with a quality unit that you'll be happy with.

Russian tubes are not the same quality as US tubes. Gen III Russian equals about Gen II US.

                  1MGPsychoboy,

It was a pleasure playing with you and 1MG also for that game. Finally we weren't on opposite sides :-)

If you have any questions concerning NV please feel free to email me and it would be a pleasure to do my best to answer them ([email protected]). Duane will take good care of you on the purchase end, you'll know that you'll be getting what you pay for. Too many companies sell inferior stuff that is far from what is advertised.

Can someone tell me the story? I'm pretty interested to hear why not to borrow Night Vision from Kahuna. Does it blow up or something?

Kahuna will take care of you. I know he took care of me when I ordered mine. It was during all the hurricanes hitting FL. Kahuna was trying evacuate the area and during this, he forgot to add my weapons mount. I had called to confirm that it was shipped and he told me he forgot to add the weapons mount. he called dealer in cal and had them ship my mount over-night to me.

As for the loaning of the night vision Kahuna had taped an IR light to the headset. It made poor notbob a beacon to NVG TB and few of his friends knew he had the IR taped to him so it was a race to see who shoot him first.
Moral of the story never borrow NVG from a player on the oppossing side

Actually to give credit where it is due, It was my head gear that NB used but it was Nudi and a some of team Blitzkriegs Idea (now team Thunderstruck). I actully got NB to give me back the headgear on the pretense that Nudi wanted to look at it and then got NB to go have some dinner with me. While we were gone Nudi and Mia taped the IR into the head gear and then when I gave it to NB told him the black tape was damage to the headgear the tape was fixing. As cable said do not borrow NV from the other side. NB was a nice target all night.

I chuckled when I heard that story... I can't believe that no one on NB's team saw the IR strip and told him. Unless of course no one on his side had NV other than him.
