I wont be going because of other possible events, but will CPX staff be running it? if so, I definitely wouldn't go unless things have changed in a MAJOR way since the last time i was there(~ a year).Origninally posted by warbeak2099
Definately extra lube. I keep two bottles at all times. Can't leave home w/o your lubricant.

frop when was the last time you were there? I know we have had our problems in the past but the staff has gotten a lot better. I hope that lots of people come out to the event and If you have any questions please post them or e-mail me and I will get back to you.Comment

I'm glad to hear thats things have changed. Like I said, it has been a little more than a year since I've been there. I've always liked the facilities, especially the junkyard field, but usually poor reffing, etc brought down my overall experience there. I will not be able to attend, as I am trying to plan to go to World Dominion 3 at Prof. Lumpy's. I am gladto hear the good news, I won't automatically dismiss playing at CPX anymore :)Origninally posted by warbeak2099

ZEROCOOL,
Hey, you need me there, trust me. I was a devoted CPX player fo ryears (Inbetween our events of course) and had to stop going there because of the MASSIVE DECLINE. Im a Forest HATER. Actually, I can hold a civil converstion with him now that hes no longer there. He was the ULTIMATE **** when he ran that place. The funny part is, NOBODY thought that place could get worse once he was gone.
Our company was also part of the first Shatner event back a few years ago. If anyone went to Fox Paintball 2 years ago, and then returned last year (at the end of the season), you would have seen the TREMENDOUS difference our company made there with the fields, training referees, creating actual play books, our mini Scenarios, and just the simple involvement we had with all of the players.
Trust me, you need our company there. I too love the CPX facility, but for some reason, they have a very hard time admitting they have any problems and always try to take care of things from the inside instead of hiring a professional company to try to resolve some problems.
Trust me, im in no way BASHING CPX in any way, shape, or form. I want to see them do good. Ive been there on both sides of the fence, player and promoter, and with one of the best facilities ive ever been to, its a shame they cant get the return players like most fields get.
Honestly, last time I was at the facility was mid summer of 2004 to play. It was the employee and the managements attitude that turned myself and my company employees away. We packed up and headed to another field, which way to many people do at CPX.
CALL ME, im here for ya Bro.

I hate to say it, but CPX has actually gotten worse. I played there a few weeks ago. There were approximately 75 open players, and only one ref. I had to wait over an hour before I got to play. The common complaint by staff is that there is no money to do things right (like fixing the booster so I can get 4500psi fills). This is not the way to encourage people to come.Comment

For a multi million dollar facility thats not good. However, **** does happen. Not filling to 4500psi isnt the end of the world. Im old school so its much easier for older players from "Back in the day" to adapt to things over younger or newer players. Im not saying that I agree with something thats broken. If its broke, get it fixed, its that simple. Remember the pump? CO2? Semi auto? Its only been a few years and now were talking about going to 7500psi on bottles.
Now as far as the reffing goes, sounds like that hasnt changed much. Thats always been the biggest downfall for CPX. It doesnt matter if you have 10 players or 100 players, you need 2 refs per game. Thats paintball 101. Hows the attitude of the refs this year? Thats always been another problem in the past.
Again, I still cant beleive they havnt called us (Or any other outside company) to ask for help. Were right here. Just look at what we have done for other local fields in the past. CPX needs a MAJOR bounceback. Its been in decline for 3 years now and it may be to late which is unfortunate. Its an awesome facility. Ive been to hundreds of fields, most of them new, and you dont find "NEW" anymore. A new paintball field is a school teacher that married into a big piece of farmland and turned some old barns into an airfill station and pro shop and hes getting players there for extra cash on the weekends.
I think we all want to see CPX succeed, but theres no way they can do it by themselves. Good luck CPX, you got my number.
PYROMAN
P.S. Im not saying we work miracles and fixing CPX is not an overnight bandaid, but the potential is still there. They need to look ahead by looking back at the past.
(WOW, im like a philosopher today, lol)Comment

Please call the park and talk to either Joe or Rylan, anything that you think you could do to help us out would be great. I dont know what you have in mind but I am sure right now we would take all the help we could get. the refing has changed I should know I am in charge of it now. If you waited over an hours to play it was cause you showed up when the game was out. when it's cold and we only have 75 people there we only use like 3 refs and i know I have at lease 2 there every week. All I can say is come again.
