You are kidding, right? Yes, it is part of the refs job to stop people from cheating - thats what the chrono, and paint checks are for and thats why you guys are out there - to enforce the rules! Did I really just have to explain that to a ref?? This is the mentality that bothers me. There are always going to be dishonest players out there, but it seems to be more than a serious problem at CPX. In fact, Ive never seen so much cheating as I have at CPX. Im going to end with this - CPX is a decent field - meaning Bedlam, Armageddon, and the Jungle of Doom are all cool fields. That said, it still is in most people's opinions, run like crap. Im glad to see you have the paint situation all squared away, and Ragtops pics and video are all very cool. Ive been a bit hostile on this thread only because I hate to see big name producers who either dont do their homework, or just have no reguard for other local fields and producers - its just bad buisness for everyone. Dont you think Dollack would like to have the money of the 300+ people that will be at the Wretched 7 game and vice versa? It all makes no sense, but whats done is done and I wish you guys the best of luck with your game.

      Same Here

Same here! Strange how the anonymity of the net can turn debates personal and heated. I apologize for all my sarcastic remarks.

I too wish the games were not scheduled over each other and when I mentioned it to the Dollacks they seemed genuinely surprised to find out there was another game in the area.

Agreed, I too apologize for my remarks. If the Dollacks didnt know, then what can I say? I guess they will have to do a better job researching the area before they set a date next year. Im sure we all would appreciate it. I know Id love to go to the Dollack game if it wasnt on the same date as one of the most anticipated games in my area. That said, no hard feelings here and again, good luck to you guys over there.

          Scenario Paintball Evolves

This is Oldsoldier from OMHW, weighing in on the two very distinct formats and styles of productions. I have played many Dollack Scenarios with OMHW, was the US General for Grenada at Fox River a couple years ago, and not to show any true favoritizum but the Dollack expensive big production, no inititive, programed scenario games are no longer going to keep the true scenario player interested. Any producer can manage missions for force on force confrontations to sell paint, and anyone can be pointed a direction by the producer to just stand back and play "howitzer ball". That is what has driven many older scenario teams away from the Dollack format.

The MORF (Mission Orientated, Real Time Format) Games where the Generals are the true field Leaders, Planning, organizing, using initiatve are what many are looking for. I was the winning General for the Wreathru Game the first MORF game at Realms Of Ruin, and that expierience was heads above what my expierience as a Dollack General was. Getting the players involved other than being "paint throwers", no hookie "role players", just a thinking game, where the Generals skills in planning, organizing, and motivating, his appointed junior leaders initiative, along with the players skills determine the game outcome, not a promoter giving "force on force" no brainer missions to the "Generals" in order to sell paint (who is actually controling the teams, the "General" or the promoter?).

I have been playing paintball from its inception, starting with Jerry Braun in the early 80's at Survival NY as an Original "Master Blaster", played in several of the early "World Cups" where it was truely "Amateur" events not these "professional" cheat fiascos they are today, and have seen the rise of scenario to where we are today. For my money the MORF format, along with the smaller in the game for fun not profit fields are the way the scenario games of the future need to go if we want the level of expansion and fun we all so desire.

Give the MORF format a try before you condemn it, it will be a truely eye opening expierience.

Just my opinion from one who has "Been There, Done That" in the real world and in Paintball.

Wayne needs to bring some of those buildings (props / forts) back from chicago and set them up at his field in Florida. He doesnt have anything like that at his field.
For most of his scenario games he charges $80.00 a case plus registration fees and you get plywood bunkers.

The Battle for Monte Casino is fast approaching and we have some very exciting news. The U.S. Army and Illinois Army National Guard will be onsite the entire weekend and will be participating in the scenario game, just like the real battle. Not only will they be playing in the event, they are also bringing some of their "toys" for you to check out. Some of witch will be used in the game itself.

On Friday, Augest 19th, we will be having a demonstration performed by the U.S. Army and ILL Army National Guard, followed by a training session in witch you will learn Army tatics and protocol, including urban warfare, building clearing, non-verbal communication, ambush response, and other military tactics.

Following the demonstration and training, there will be a 2-man competition judged by military personel. Winners will be awarded prizes at a post-competition ceremony. Prizes and competition details to be announced. Friday 19th Demonstration, Training and Competition open to general public.
