    German Recruitment OK DDAY 2006

    Hey everyone,

Most of you that were there this year can vouch for me that the German side needed something. We've started helping Dwayne with bunker building on the wall this year. And we plan to make two more Concrete bunkers next year.

But we know that the Bunkers are only a fraction of what needs to happen on the wall. Hence, I've been assigned from my team to start recruiting serious scenario players and hopefully their teams as well to aid in the defense of the Atlantic Wall.

From what I can see from all the Forum's a majority of the people posting on this event are always on the Allied side. Why not try the German side for once and have some fun. The German side has lacked people that really enjoy the sport and will play no matter what the head count is for each team.

Don't get me wrong, I appauld the people that are on the German side, but we need people that are not going to take 2 to 3 hour lunch breaks. We're going to get a website up and we're working with Dwayne to try to make it more appealing to be the bad guys ..... Lets face it ... without the german's this event wouldn't happen .... so I dare you to stop being a goodie too-shoo and be a bad guy for once.

Oh yeah .... Dwayne and the "Command Staff" for both sides are working on changes for the game. Our site plans on keeping people up to date on the changes that are going to be made. When the site is up I will post it here.

Well there isn't really going to be a equaling of the forces. They're going to structure it a tad more towards the historical side of things. Hence ... the 101st will not have as many players as it did this year, the same for the 82nd.

If my spreadsheer that I got from the Organizers is correct, the 82 and the 101st each had over 330 people each, while the 1st ID had 303. The 1st ID was a vastly larger unit than them. Plus I from what I've seen so far is that they are going to extend the Wall somewhat and have the Rangers land there and take the village. So technically they are making Omaha as well as Utah .... So now the Rangers don't become another "airbourne" unit.

I know these are not in concrete we have to look at the logistics and the fabrication that would have to go into these plans.

Either way ... Some serious scenario players would be a nice addition to the German side. Not saying the German players this year were bad ... it's just thaat there was a large munber of German players that walked off the field and didn't come back. Some of it had to do with the slaughter, but there were some that lack the "stuff" to continue on. That's what we need next year.

I think if the turnout for the german side is bad again we shoulddo what most parks do in special games. We need to let the Germans take more hits before being called out.

Maybe 3 or 5 hits would really turn the tide around for the smalle rbunch of defenders and make the playing time against such a hude offensive allied force mor managable.

I mean who wants to come on the field and get popped emmediatley dude. Lets make it hard and fun for the allies next time. Oh yea...I gotta stdy for my art Hist I exam so think about it-
