    ateention all milsimer/scenario/bush/woods players

    Alright all,
I need some help from all of you milsimers since you are the core demographics for a new series that is being held in conjunction with the CXBL (Canadian X-ball league) that will not only bring our sport to the forefront but also make it spectator friendly ... (yes I said it) ... read on and you shall understand!

The Series is a 7 man series (7 people per team PDT_Armataz_02_05) held on a 300 by 200 foot field enclosed in netting. We will be using inflatable bunkers from mighty paintball ( http://www.mightypaintball.com/produ...riowarzone.htm - warzone pro package) in addition to natural and man made bunkers which will vary with every event. This event will be held side by side with CXBL events and will be one of the first times scenario/woodsball style of play will be spectator friendly.

What I am looking for from you, is ideas on what we should use as the rule book? what should be looked at in terms of the formats of play? We are currently in the process of setting up 2 machine guns (fixed positions) that are located in vantage points for both teams, they are rigged to a kill switch that when hit will disable the weapon (adds a new twist don't it!!).

So all on the AO, let the ideas soar and get them on here ...

****note**** I know that we are used to playing in wide open barely defined areas, this series unfortunately asks us to move to a new style of play that is contained, however I am sure that with the ideas of the AO and it's members, we could make this series into something that will redefine the way our sport is seen in the public eye ...

Thanks for the help guys ... and gals, looking forward to the input!

hi this was posted by marc owner of gz in gan, ontario

    "Hi guys
I am working on this new project ,my spelling is bad being french so just try to work trough it ha ha

3 years ago When i started the Canadian X-Ball league where citys would face off I was taken for a Idiot
now it is the hottest thing all accross Canada

this new serie will not be the favorite of everyone but it is what many wants
I deal with both players and half of them love both side
this will take the best from both side and join them in together

the idea came to me when I hosted a game in the town at GZ paintball .
My X-Ball team was so cocky on how they would demolish those Woodball guys
turned out the scenario team cleened up the field over and over never allowing once My X-Ball player to win a match
How can the best in almost all Ontario get pushed arround by some bush ballers ha ha ha
radio device seemed to have work great for the woods guys as I stood on the side I could hear them talking to each others but the rule was no rules

    Why would snipper be useless?
300 ft is twice the range of any marker
the set up as trenchs ,hills and all kind of added features

I will have a maze section that will be allowing you to cross the center 50 if you can make it trough

did you ever play in a maze?
at GZ we spent 3 month building one to find out
no one wanted to play in ,reason being all where scared to death of walking trough it
players shotted each others from the same teams
guys would lose track of there team mates and there heart pounded to the point you feared it will stop. ennemys could be anywhere at each ends of the walls
    this is exiting !
who here ever watch a DVD of paintball ?
now Who ever watch it all ?
    I bet no one
no one can survive a full paintball DVD
I am crazy about paintball but 10 minute of it on a video is all i can take
How could it ever be on TV ?
defenately not with the speed ball format way to boring.
I bet this new serie will be so flashy with all we will allow that it will be fun for the spectators
we will lose track of few players allong the way but who cares ?
We want the players to get what they want first .

pricing is a thing we did not even think of yet
I wait untill I get input from players
I can be cheap with not much to win
or can cost more with cash payout
basicly it is up to you

this will be one of 5 serie played all with in the same venue
this will make possible to attract vendors
and have some kind of paintball show with deals on things

I know nothing in scenario play ,this is why I aske prohet to give me advice
I need input from all of you
You might have no interest in this but still might know what we need to do
thank you all for your help
    marc"

      Here's what I've got...

In my experience, Scenario paintball is about a few key things:

      1. Missions - you might want to set up objectives other than elimination.

      2. Holding ground, "long haul", pace yourself, LONG games. - not sure how you would implement.

      3. Role players - Third party to interact with (creates twists in the game and can change the outcome)

      4. Night game - it is what it is, but I have seen it completely flip flop momentum and win games. - Perhaps have a night time part of the series.

      5. weapons - markers, grenades, mines, launchers, tanks, helecopters etc.

      Good luck!

Plese do not turn this into another wash up paintball / speedball game where the opponents spray the other team with a waterhose effect on the players. Thats not paintball...thats speedball. Please include some tiype of granades into the game, not just paintballs....this isnt WWI here! I would really like to see paintball include palm sized sand bags to toss at opponents. Those would be great for reusable hand grenandes.

I LOVE FAIRFAX VA! Everything but the roads work here.

            cool

You might want to consider a rule for the smoke... It has been used to "choke out" or "smoke out" players from bunkers... Some fields have decided to regulate it's usage for safety reasons.

I.e. no more than 2 smoke grenades deployed in a single area.

            Sounds good, keep us posted!
