How do I convert my Minimag to CA?

I have a MiniMag I want to resurrect. I ran it 10 years ago with CO2 on a braided line remote. I have an old vertical expansion chamber on it.

I have a new coiled remote. I also have a HP CA air tank I use with my other marker that I want to use with it. What I am not sure of is what kind and type of regulator I need to buy, and where it should mount?

    TIA.

To convert a Minimag from CO2 to HPA:

    1. Remove CO2 tank.
    2. Insert HPA tank.

    And you're done!

You're going to want a tank with an HP regulator (one that outputs about 850psi) since that's the output pressure of a CO2 tank. Just try your tank and see what happens, worst that'll happen is it won't work right and you'll know your tank has an LP reg on it. You can use your HPA tank with any air line you want, no additional regulator needed (it'll just starve your 'mag). Although you can ditch the expansion chamber to run HPA, it won't hurt to leave it if it's easier.

You shold probably replace all the orings too. Also check you serial #, you might need to replace your regulator piston assembly as well as the spring pack, as noted here:http://www.airgun.com/faq.shtml#nitrogen

But that faq says "might". It seems to be at least a 50/50 chance of not needing the reg parts.

I remember this discussion, but I don't remember why it says "might". I need a smiley with wrinkles and a white beard.
