RT Problems

Ok guys, i picked up a classic RT that the seller said doesn't work. Took it home and here is what I found.

When aired up it pressureizes but won't fire.

I took the valve out and tried it in a working classic RT and it fired fine.

Put the valve back and changed out the grip frame and it still doesn't fire.

Think this is a sear problem?

could be. Take the sear out and compare to the one in your other gun. if the non-working gun sear is shorter there is your problem.

Maybe the sear rod length needs adjustment. Does the trigger allow you some room for a screwdriver between the trigger and rod? Try pressing the rod back just a little more than the trigger will do. If it fires, then you should make the trigger rod a bit longer. See the threaded part of the rod? Heat that a bit with a lighter to soften the locktite and adjust the lenth with some pliers.

Actually when the non working system is aired up, the rod is full against the trigger and you can pull the trigger the full swing and it still doesn't do anything.

sounds like a bad sear to me. Check the catching edge of the sear, and the rear tip. If something doesn't look right, a replacement would probably do it.

There is your problem. The sear rod is too long and is preventing the on-off from opening to allow the front air chamber to recharge. Shorten the sear rod so that it almost touches the back of the trigger when aired up.
