the guy who had it before me took the classic valve off and made a custom cap to go where the valve went. i'm guessin his whole idea was to make it tiny-short. which its only 6" 3/4" long. but do you guys know whats causing that shootdownOriginally posted by z1p101Everyone seems to think you need an inline reg these days no matter what. What are you gonna do?Comment

the out put on my tank is 800 or 850 and the palmers reg. is set at a little over 600 its shooting around 290 first and second shotOriginally posted by pierceHe's using the Palmer to adjust velocity then. Check the output of your nitro tank. The end cap that is screwed in might also be the problem.Comment

if its venting out the back of the velocity hole the velocity is set too high or regulator piston or regulator piston Oring is bad. As far as shootdown at 6 bps or higher while running off the stabilizer you would need to ask WJR if this is normal as this mod has only been done by a handful of people.Comment

he said that he had no problem with it but he said he really never got it up to 6 bps because he couldn't walk it and had no problem with shootdown but when i shoot it is start shooting and it starts to drop off then gets worse and worse then nothing comes out of the gun then i wait for it to recharge then it shoots again, and i check the piston o-ring and it looks good but i'll probably replace itOriginally posted by Coralisif its venting out the back of the velocity hole the velocity is set too high or regulator piston or regulator piston Oring is bad. no i didn't remove the reg. when i switch it back to the 68 classic i just had a hose from the asa to the classic valve and i didn't get to shoot it yet because it leaked out of the velocity screw hole i'll try and fix that classic valve and see if it causes shootdown, and my tank is a pmi pure energy 88 4500 i think they have good recharge rates but i may be wrongOriginally posted by Coraliswhen you swap out the reg backs with a agd back are you removing the stabilizer ? if so and you still have shoot down then i suspect you might have weak bolt spring. Or a tank with a lousy recharge rateComment

is the palmers maintained correctly? I did 2 things to fix my shootdown problem. I rebuilt the reg (mine was stock but the same would work on the palmers), and adjusted the trigger. I think the trigger was a little too short of pull and not letting the valve open or close, whichever. If the reg isnt lubed properly it can make it mess up, Id check that.Comment
