    Flyingpootangs Flustered

I bought Sydarm body, valve, L7 bolt, barrel recently and finally put it together. I first installed a ULE, but I couldn't get it tuned (wouldn't fire/leaked w/trigger released), so I switched to 3 different classic on/offs, but It leaked when fired, on gas up, pull, and occasinaly on release. I'm thinking WTF, so I installed a RT on/off w/.750 pin and the 2 o-ring set up and again it wouldn't fire (trigger rod stayed back). I went to the RT on/off with 1 o-ring, the quad in the center, and whola it worked. Any ideas on why this would happen besides being finiky????

    Setup:
    Sydarm (classic valve) rebuilt
    L7 bolt
850 psi out put tank with 2000psi in it.
    Dye 45 frame
    stock barrel
    .235 power tube spacer
    new style on/off top
    RT rail
    RT sear 1.985

I'm really confused. You got a classic valve to work with only 1 oring above the on-off top?

Somethings outta whack. I know you know about these valves, so there has to be something simple that you overlooked. Have you checked the rail bushing? Were you using the teflon and not the urethane orings when using the classic on-off pin?
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

athomas, I glad you answered. I used the quad o-ring with the 1 larger o-ring used for a standard classic on/off top. AGD used this set up in my gen 1 xmag with the RT 1/2 aluminum 1/2 brass on/offs. Yup the rail bushing is there and teflon o-rings are being used in the classic on/off.

Juliano, Yeah I'm stumped, but now I got my refill of Prozac, so I'm felling much better now

Ok, you did use 2 orings above the on-off top (1 small quad and 1 large urethane).

I think its just being finicky, especially since it seems to work now. Might have been a piece of dirt caught in it somewhere. That is usually the biggest cause of all mag problems.

I agree. It's just kinda strange for this valve to be so picky....
