Clippard MPA-3 Question/Problem

I just got all of the items needed to make a pmeumag but I can't figure out what to use in the Cippard MPA-3 to push the sear. I figuring a welding rod or some brake tubing would work but I have my doubts. Also, when I do figure out what to use I need to mount it to the MPA-3 so it doesn't fall out. What do people use to keep the "rod" from falling out? Any info would help. Thanks a bunch
