how to: make a 15* foregrip

heres how i made my 15* foregrip.
get a bottomline asa that is angled like this. (sorry i cut it already)

now either strap to a straight surface or bolt it on ur trigger frame and put it in a vice.(sorry no pic) now cut the asa in half like the image above. make sure its a pretty straight cut. notice how i still have one bolt hole.
take your body off but leave your rail on. install a nut on top of the front screw and field strip screw.

ok now that you cut the asa in half (o hopefully didnt cut ur frame too bad ) hold it against your rail and trigger frame. like so.

now you can either mark, drill, and tap into the frame or mark, drill, tap into the asa. I recommend tapping the asa due to it having more to tap into.

    in the frame

    into the asa

i used a 10-32 tap with a 5/32 drill bit. (same bolt threads as the front screw.)

Bolt your asa up to your rail or frame(whichever one you tapped) and reassemble your gun.

Congratulations! now u have a working 15* foregrip.
let me know if u need anymore pics.
    mag for now, mag forever

Awesome. Don't have any of those tools lying around, unfortunately.

      Sweet, though.

        Nicely done!

I also made a 15 degree asa, but i kinda cheated. I used a CNC mill to get what i wanted.

        Click 4 pic.

Because i could not find a 10-32 tap, it came out as 8-32 with bushings to fit a RT Rail. I have to locktite the front screw, because the hole for the LPR was drilled a bit to deep, so it leaks out of the front hole without locktite. But again, it was either the hole or the asa that would leak because had almost no room to play with.

        /end hijack.

That's pretty sweet, nice work! I've never used a 15* ASA before, how does it feel? What's the advantage as far as ergonomics?

Of course, I'm pimping an E-Mag, so I don't really have the option, hah.

bluedragon - i feel pretty good, but i rarely put my whole hand on it. i just use it as a place to mount my lpr.
Fixel - very nice your 15* asa.

@ BlueDragonX: I've allways liked the feel of a forward angled grip since i had a 2004 orracle cocker, and wanted something similar for my mag. All in all it does not make that much of a difference, a bit more comfortable but i don't mind if i handle a 90 degree frontgrip. (like on my minimag)

@ Dyeforever: Thanx! Sorry again for hijacking your thread, but i never thought it was worth opening one for.

Is this the kind of asa you used?

Nice adapter dye-. I guess I would start with an old piranha adapter and not my AGD adapter

yup that should work. but due to how the asa mounting is, you would need to enlarge the exist threaded holes in the asa.
