How To - Make a cheap pocket hopper speed feed

Alright guys.

I put this together in about 10 minutes and thought others may find it usefull.

Here is the finished product with 10 rnd tube inserted:

The first step is to find a milk carton with a pour spout:

The next step is to tear out the pour spout:

Next step you cut a hole into the top of your hopper. This can be done where ever you like. I chose the top to insure that I could add the maximum amount of balls.

The lid material is pretty thick. I ended up using a permanent pen to outline the milk pour spout and then using a cutting bit on my dremel.

Last step you push the pour spout through the hole and add a little glue.

Additionally you can add some sort of feed gate. One thing that is quick and easy is to cut a little slit in the side of the inserted pour spout and then jam a zip tie into it.

Also if you are worried about playing in the rain. Simply keep the top to the pour spout. If it starts to rain you can just screw it back on and play.

Nice. Probably don't even need a gate, I doubt anything's falling out of that.

Might do that to mine at some point, though I usually just carry a 140 round Dye LockLid and refill from that. That's not stock class legal, right? Cigar tubes only?

The only time I need a gate is when I lay my gun down on a table. Then 1 or 2 balls fall out sometimes. But thats only if it is full to the top. Never lost a ball during play though.

Cute little idea, kinda like it. It could be modified to put the spout anywhere on the hopper body too. Or on a bigger hopper, I can say Halo B fed by 10 round tubes!

This has streamlined my reloading dramatically. As any speed feed would. But if you have never used a speed feed then you don't know what you are missing.

Assuming you drink milk then this mod is FREE. And it will be worth every penny.

do a google search ... my wife actually forces me to use them like they are meant to be used cause she hates matching up socks ... i did a search for them to make a gate on my ghetto speed feed and she ended up buying a crap load of them ...

How big are those? I mean it looks like a phantom speed gate but it must be pretty big to wrap around 2 socks.

I just realized. One of the big downfalls of speed feeds is "what if it rains?"

Simple. Just keep the top to the pour spout. If it starts raining just screw it on and play.

didn't steve give you a feed gate to a phantom? Did that work out?

If you have a dremel and a pair of pliers you can just cut an x and bend the flaps on the lid so that it creates a feedgate. This is for those that don't drink milk as often I guess.

At least his hoppers work, we've peersonally witnessed you messing with your hoppers on game day to get them to work.
