    level 10 velocity question

will the middle spring work for shooting about 270-280 fps? Right now I have the smallest spring in, but I am chopping paint. I think the bolt is moving forward to quickly.

There are a lot of factors in getting the velocity that you want. That said, I have a level 10 on my minimag, and using the longest spring, I have no trouble getting velocities 270-280.

Can you still reach velocities of 290-300 with the longer springs? I also chop paint with the short spring. When I put the long red spring in my tac-1 I could hear air leaking down the barrel but when I switch back to the short spring I have no leaks but I chop paint.

The setup has a lot to do with the operating pressure and thus the velocity that is good for a given spring. If the setup leaks down the barrel, it is most likely a shim issue. Bolt springs don't affect the placement or how the bolt seals against the carrier oring.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
