Old mag player new to boards few questions

Hi guys. I have been trying to make a account on here for the past month and finally activation worked. I started playing PB around 95 and played for quite a few years. I had a Classic Rt. The valve number on it was like 00058. Thats how old it was. I freaking loved it. It was a gun one had to learn to control. I stupidly sold it when I got out of the sport. Well I'm getting sucked back in and I acquired another Classic RT a few weeks ago. It has the level 10 installed and seems to shoot fine but after looking on here and numerous searches I just had a few questions. Reading how the level 10 works does it pretty much take away from the bouncing? The RT i have now has a double trigger which I am not used to but It just doesn't feel as responsive as my original RT. Not sure if its the level 10 or what. I know about people saying you need a high psi and such to achieve it but that to me seems false because my old Rt would bounce anytime I wanted it to with a crappy 3000 psi tank that was as old as the gun was. I had the sweet spot down on that gun it just doesn't seem like this one will have one. Also on the ULE upgrade. Are there different offers as I have a level 10 already. Could I get the deal cheaper by having them use my bolt instead of a new one? Or just put the old one back in and have a spare lvl 10. I don't care about weight but I would like to shorten the hopper height. Or any tips on how to lighten/shorten the trigger pull a bit would be appreciated a well. I have done many searches I just never read definite answers on any of it. I think I was expecting more of a twitch feel to a double trigger on a RT. Plus I wanted to say hi and I have been enjoying reading the boards and trying to get up to pace on the mags/addons. Sucked not being able to register as I saw quite a few things I wanted on the classifieds

your old 3000 tank might have had a higher output pressure than your current tank

maybe but I dont think so. I still have the tank its getting rehydroed at the moment. Currently I have a nitroduck ireg at 800 and the piston kit on the way. My friend in my old town has my old tank and sent it off for me ill try both but I used a couple of tanks with my old rt and it always shot the same.

With a double trigger, you have to move your fingers futher than you did with the single. That's probably part of it. The level 10 will not have any effect on the trigger response. Also, the old tank reg must have output more, that's the only thing to change the trigger response other than possibly the parts not oiled adequately. The ULE kit you spoke of is the ULE body. It is just the body, doesn't come with a level 10. No body will fit the classic RT other than the one that came with it. The classic RT is built on different specs than the rest of the family.

I was referring to the upgrade package where they swap all the parts and give you a new valve, body, and bolt and such. I was just wondering if they can take off parts of that deal like the l10 bolt. Probably not. Just thats alot of money for them to keep pretty much my old gun and give me a new one. I could sell mine and just by a new rt for not much more.

Also my old rt used to have a single trigger metal frame with a really wide trigger shoe. Not sure if agd made it or not but if anyone could show me one or if they have one to sell let me know.

Yeah, if you're gonna do that, you may as well sell yours and buy an RT pro. I found Double triggers to be better at this sort of thing on both an A-5 and Rtpro. If you really need more, you could put a e-mag on/off pin on the on/off which has more surface area, and thus can be flicked back easier by the pressure (better rt, possibly uncontrolable)

Not sure on the shoe, but AGD replaced the metal single frame with a much lighter carbon fibre one.

In terms of getting more rt bounce there are a few things that come into play. 1) Are your on/off orings new? If so they need to break in to get the full bounce effect. 2) An adjustable tank that can reach 1000psi is pretty much the biggest factor in RT bounce. My retro minimag is like a machine gun with 1200psi going to the valve. 3) Another thing that may not be comon is the trigger assembly being dirty. This might happen if you buy your marker used like I did. I had rt bounch but it wasnt that great. I took apart my marker to find the area where the trigger fits into the frame (around the trigger pin) was caked with old paint. After cleaning it was like a new marker. The friction of the grime was messing up the return of the trigger thus taking away my bounce. I hope i helped you with some of this info.

Ya I will look at that first chance I get. I replaced one of the orings on the on/off so maybe that will help when it breaks in. Thanks for the tips and info guys really appreciate it. Happy Thanksgiving.

The level 10 does affect the retro effect a bit. Depending on your setup and the bolt spring used, there can be a drastic change in the internal operating pressures of the valve. This changes the differential pressures between the chamber and input. Its the pressure differential that creates the retro effect. The level 10 generally requires a higher chamber pressure to operate. If your input remains the same as before, then your pressure differential will decrease and as such so will your trigger bounce.

                  ex; 1) Level 7 bolt - 400 psi operating pressure - 800psi tank = 400psi differential, 2) Level 10 bolt - 600 psi operating pressure - 800 psi tank = 200 psi differential.

The smaller pressure differential will create less trigger kick, which is why a higher tank output pressure of 1000 psi or more is needed to get the "bounce" back.

I wouldn't bother upgrading a classic retro to a ULE. You are basically changing everything on the gun. You might as well just get a new or used Retro ULE and sell yours. It would be cheaper in the end.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
