    unglueing a glued barrel

I want to get the front half of a 2 piece all american reanodized. How does one go about separating the 2 pieces?

Most glues for metal are either epoxy or cyanoacrylate based (think Loctite here). In both cases heat will do the job. It may take using leather gloves and a propane torch though. If the leather starts to smoke you've got it too hot and it's likely press fitted in that case.

I've separated 2 All American barrels with a torch so far. I tried it with a heat gun but it's not enough. Be warned, it's going to stink the place up something fierce when you do it...so don't do it in your basement just before X-Mas dinner.

And make sure you've thought out how you're going to put them back together. If you don't reconnect them straight, you'll have a pretty barrel that doesn't shoot worth

Two part epoxy will re-attach it. I had one I loaned to a noob a few years ago and it came back in 2 pieces, just buy some 2 part epoxy, smear about an 1/8th of an inch above the inner barrel edge and push in, hold for 30 seconds. Let cure for 24 hrs and your set.

A heat gun and a pair of strap wrenches should solve that problem nicely.
