lay the rail down so that it is pressing on the twistlock, wanting to push it out. Using a soft hammer (rubber, wood), hammer lightly on the rail until the twistlock begins to push out. After that, just flip it over and hammer the twistlock out. Worked for me.

        what about the body?

What type of body did the gun have? Are you looking to get rid of it?

I just smacked it on my counter and the twist lock assembly popped right out. Is there really a wrong way to do this?

Yes! Don't use a steel-faced hammer directly on the assembly. The brass is soft enough a steel hammer will flare the end. A flared end has to be filed smooth with the cylinder of the body. Also, the body of the brass cylinder may be flared to the inside, required reaming if you ever need to take apart the assembly. Granted, that almost never happens, but . . .

If you have to use a hammer on it, use a wooden block to avoid direct contact with the brass.

Ah, good call. Glad I didn't try doing it that way.

It's not abnormal. Don't sweat it.

Yeah, now that it's in my Alpha Rail mine does that, too. I guess there aren't many people that want to use a twistlock and Minimag body with their Alpha Rail.
